Or does it look bigger coz of the fish lens? ah...I remember the UK site comparing the PS2 next to the X-box. The PS2 is big....but the X-box is humongous!

I never realized it was THAT big! It actually wouldn\'t fit to the small empty space underneath our television, where our Playstation 2 is!
Well, if you\'re not bashing the X-box, the people in the pic are - as I think they\'re laughing to the size. "Size does matter" -anyone? :)
Maybe it\'s matter of perspective - the X-box seems over-large, and I have difficulties to believe it actually is so humongous. But if it is, I\'m only amazed - and it will pass - but it doesn\'t change my respect towards X-box into one way or another.

I dont know why microsoft made a console anyway. They are really good at making computer crap, so why not keep doing it. I know they had a little money to screw around with (more like billions). It\'s like if Coka Cola made a console, its going to suck, it might have the best graphics in the world, but it will suck. I know Sony did the same, but Sony makes the best electronics so HA!

Actually Sony does make the best electronics. IMO anyway. But I think most people will agree with me.
BTW I think they are laughing at the controllers saying "Wow! What a blatant plagurism of the PS2, GC, and DC controllers!"

It\'s not opinion, it\'s a fact that Sony does not make the best electronics equipment. The only product you could argue for is the portable CD player. Sony\'s Walkman is one of the better ones out there. In everything else though, their competitors have something better to offer. Car stereo, home video, home audio, PCs, laptops, etc...
Anywho, about the topic, the size of the Xbox is the standardized width of most home theater components out there (Amps, VCRs, DVD players...). I\'m guessing M$ chose this width so you can comforatably stack it upon your other equipment and vice-versa. It is, in fact, a progressive DVD player...
And yea, those guys are clearly pointing at the products to the right of the Xbox console itself.

Sony does make the best in home entertainment equipment.
All my stuff is SONY.
Listen to a SONY stereo then listen to others, SONY have better sound.
Its closer in the TV\'s but I still think SONY is either 1st or 2nd in the TV arena.
From the size of the xbox in that pic it looks like a black desktop pc.

I tried Sony stereos before. Theyre nothing special.
And why\'s everyone worried about system size? Its not too big. It\'ll fit nicely above or below and vcr, or other entertainment system component....

NOW MS have their work cut out for them if the want to brake into Japan.

To be Honist that was not the most damaging thing that happened to MS Xbox at the TGS, it was Bill Gate\'s Key note speach, What only a hand full of people clapped and it came from the direction of the MS staff.

And isn\'t the PS controller a "blatant plagiarism" of the SNES controller? The DC a hybrid of the PS(SNES)/N64 controller?

The DC controller may look retarded but I have no problems with it. Handles great, feels great.

Wow my Sony Fanboy Meter is off the charts. I have never gotten reading like this. It is some weird phenomenon. Maybe its the sun spots or something.
Who are you to say that the Xbox is poorly designed? Have you seen it with your own eyes? Have you touched it with your own hands? I think that it is utter bullsh!t to say something is a peice of crap and I have never even seen it before. What is wrong with the controller? For all we know it could be the next step in controller design. (I am of course playing devil\'s advocate with that one) What do you think the reaction was going from the Atari controller to the SMS or NES controller? I doubt everyone praised it; but once they got to actually experience it they were hooked. There are no original controller designs. Everything is based on something else. I don\'t fault a company for trying to emulate some of the more popular features of other controllers. I remember when the PSX first came out and everyone was saying that the controller looked like a peice of crap and that it wouldn\'t fit in anyone\'s hand correctly, but since history has a way of repeating itself they played it and loved it.
Now I am not saying that the Xbox and its controller are God\'s gift to gaming; but some of your hypocritical views really piss me off. Its like they say, "People in glass houses shouldn\'t throw stones" or was it, "People in stone houses shouldn\'t throw glass"? Regardless you get my point.

Even though this is totally of topic. DC has a bad controller, the copied of nintendo by puting the memory card and thier "Rumble Pack" on the controller. I do see what the point of puting the screen on thier mem cards anyway, they just cost more to make and the cord from the controler comes out the bottom? how gay is that? Playstation has the ONLY controller with two, yes TWO analog sticks and a built in rumble feature so HA!

HA! to what? Rumble features? Who gives a flying patootie? They\'re nice but merely a luxury. So what if the DC controller has the cord coming out from the bottom? Does it get in your way while playing? Who\'s really the gay one, then? You act like Sony was the first to include analog and rumble support. Notice this was after N64 had it.
Sega copied N64? Sony copied off N64, too, then.
