If the game can run this without slowdown, I will be very impressed. Look at how many commoners there are!

I can\'t wait for this game! It\'s looking better and better every time I see it. For more pics, go to http://www.computerandvideogames.com/story.cfm?sid=2467 .

Very nice pics. I am looking forward to this game.
-
Very impressive.

Never played Balders Gate because of that 3/4 over view but I might give this one a chance.

SOme of the monsters will be made up of or up to 20,000 polygons a piece
so sayeth Next Gen magazine.
can\'t wait one of my most anticipated PS2 titles I expect to see this one in full motion at E3
-
This game is definitely looking awesome. Is this positively full 3-d? No prerendered packgrounds? Look at the textures! They\'re unbelievable!
I\'ll definitely be looking foward to more info on this title at E3

Wow! That\'s a lot of polygons. I\'m going to go read the IGN preview again. I must have missed that info last time I read it.
kangu-G^Ltt^s, yep, it\'s full 3d.
-
woow, those shots look even better than the ones ddaryl posted of an xbox game a couple of days ago
-
This might be the Diablo 2 killer..i never saw monster that big enough in this type of D&D game(picture 5)...
-
This is the kind of RPG im talking about! A game like this, IMHO, is better than the FF series....if you\'ve ever played anything made by Black Isle studios you know their stuff is great!
-
looking good, looks pre-renderd to me, but I prefer FF over any westren RPG :)
-
They only look pre-rendered. They are all real time.
-
those textures look awesome - can\'t wait to play osme sort of demo or at least see it in person
this one has me iwating patiently - looks to be a little more user friendly too - Baldurs Gate was a little bit too much learning for me - still fun though
-
This game\'s backgrounds are indeed rendered in real time. Another glorious example attesting to the beauty that is Sony\'s PS2.
-
baldurs gate rules.
man i only got to play a demo of BG on the pc but i am definately gonna get it for the ps2

Completely 3D son
and I prefer American and European RPG\'s over Japanese, I just wish there were more for Consoles. I enjoy Japanese RPG\'s but they don\'t innovate them enought to match my expectations. It still remains to be seen if any Japanese RPG\'s are going to make any bold innovations on the PS2
I really enjoyed the Summoner because of this, and Vagrant Story although made by Square was more Western styled
-
Looking mighty good and all in real-time. ;)
Saw a trailer (forgot what site) for this game, and it looked tasty.

- what\'s in the f\'cking box?
-
Is this a CAPCOM game?
-
imagine this game with a hardrive backing it. Kidding aside very nice looking game.
-
the graphical capabilities for picture # 3 are unreal. The way the they made those two women look identical is a mind blower, but I\'m a jerkoff and from now on you should all call me senor\' Jerkoff
-
Do you know what else is unbelievable? How you nit-pick a PS2 game because it has good graphics and have to call it amazing. Do yourself a favor and don\'t say something as stupid as that.
coughdorkcough

I\'m playing Baldur;s Gate right now oon my pc with Baldur\'s Gate II waiting for me when i finish part 1.

nope as far as I understand it. It\'ll be a part of the Bladurs Gate World but will be a game designed for consoles with more action and its own seperate storyline
-
I would just like to piont out allproxboxer error. Thier are three that are exsactly the same. Can\'t you see the one in the back?
That will teach em.
Sorry about that Np.

So you haven\'t played any Badur\'s Gate games, huh? In the 2d Baldur\'s Gate games, they used the same sprites for a lot of different characters in the game. It would take them years to make each person in the game look different because there are so many people. It is the same in a 3d game -- it would take forever to make thousands of different people.
-
Wow looks great. I hope their won\'t be any slowdown (or at least not a lot) To tell you the truth it\'s way to common among PS2 games right now.

MGS2 Demo, ZOE, Onimusha are all slowdown free and all 3 are the best lookign games on the pS2 to date
all run at 60FPS as well
-
I have a video of it on a CD.
I couldnt see any slowdowsn, it looks really cool!

Well I doubt they\'d release a gameplay video that would show off slowdown, but IGN and DR all demo\'s when it was 1st announced and they all said no slowdown
Isn\'t it ironic that the PS\'2 best looking titles
Onimusha, ZOE and MGS2 demo do not suffer from any slowdown, while so many graphically inferior games do suffer
kinda makes you go Hmmmmmmm ??????

The game looks great. It will probably end up being a sleeper hit like Ring of red and shadow of destiny.
-
This is the game that will place a PS2 in my house.

This game ain\'t no sleeper. the Baldurs Gate name goes a long way for PC RPG\'s. Its incarnation on the PS2 will get lots of attention especially at E3.
The fact that this is an AMerican RPG makes me even happier, its so refreshing playing a non Japanese RPG
-
They made some changes for the ps2 version gameplay..in addition ..you can now control the shield instead of all the way hacking.
That\'s just what i want in Diablo games.
-
Waspman, where did you hear this? I want to know what kinds of changes they are making so it would work with console controls. Any link?
-
I just hope they dont assign you characters.
Ive been waitin for a console game to have a completely unique character generation system.
I hpoe they keep that part as well.
But, so far all the characters theyve showed are the same characteres, either male or female.

Looks pretty good for a PC RPG...
Yes, I know its on the PS2, but hey, the PS2 is getting more share of PC ports than any platform, but of course if its on the PS2 and not on the so called PC, xbox, thats a good thing, right???

its not just a simple port, its a new game for ps2, built from ground up. The current generation of pc\'s (with no gf3) can never handle those kind of poly counts, lighting and textures. Just look at it, every stone, barrel and object is made up of polygons. And this is from a very small and unkown developer (black isle and snowblind). imagine what big developers such as ea or konami can do with ps2. It just takes some effort, understanding and learning

You Sad Brainless Troll !
they must be Twin Sisters then........... :rpissed:.
anyway i think this game looks great :D.
Never played the PC version did\'t appeal to me, but on the PS2 yeah ill give it a go.
I don\'t think this game matters if it has a HD backing it or not.

Ironfist:
Sorry for not replying earlier..been busy lately.Here\'s the statement made by Ezra Dreisbach:

"Perhaps the most significant difference is that we hope to include more traditional platformer gameplay elements such as jumping, blocking, lever pulling, and item pushing. "

BG for the PC was cool, though it\'s battle system needed some tweaking. This one looks amazing, and as long as they\'ve improved the battle a bit, you can bet I\'ll be on board!
-
Hey!! You guys left out the best pic...;)

This game looks great. I\'ve heard of Baldur\'s Gate, but never played it or seen it played. Is this an action-RPG game, like Zelda or something? Pretty cool if so. Very nice graphics.
-
Hey everyone! Go to the Official Baulders Gate: Dark Alliance Web-Site. Here--> BG:DA (http://www.interplay.com/bgdarkalliance/)
There they explain alot. Check out the FAQ section. My favorite part is where they say that, with all the effects going on in the game your freinds super fast PC would slow to a crawl. Cool.:)
Edit: Hahahahahaha.... My link has a :D in it
-
I checked out the official site earlier and it`s nice.
I like the look of the inventory - they use the ingame models to display your armor and weapons, just like in Summoner - but much better.

Even cooler is that the link still works with a :D in it. :)
Thanks for the links Waspman and CygnusXI. And don\'t worry about it Waspman. I just posted that yesterday, so it didn\'t take you that long to respond to it. :)
