I would like to see intereactive backgrounds but keep the same "tekken" gameplay. What would you like to see in tekken 4?
-
I want to see a better combo breakout system. There needs to be a way to break air combos, but it shouldn\'t be easy.
I also think breaking out of the multi-throws should involve more skill. They should have it whoever can tap the button combination the fastest for that throw is the one who wins the throw. If the person getting thrown taps the commands faster, they should break out of it. That way, multi throws will be useful once again, and even if you don\'t do multi throws you will still need to know how to do them.
I am hoping for a huge advancement in background interactivity. It would be cool if it was like the tech demo for the PS2, with guys surrounding the fighters. If the fighters get knocked into the audience, they should get pushed back in. The audience should follow the fighters instead of just standing in the same spot, but they shouldn\'t interfer with the fight too much.

1. Interactive backgrounds :
Kicking someone head-first through a car\'s side window would be cool.
2. Improvements to the grappling/throwing game :
When you throw someone, there are two options for them; either escape or suffer. In real fights it\'s not that simple really. Maybe some button-bashing technique would bring more realism to the game : if you were grabbed, you could fight the throw by pressing the correct button rapidly (maybe the same button with which you\'d previously escaped), and your opponent has to battle against your resistance with the same method. Also, the chances of escaping the throw depend on the throw (well, so it does in TTT too, eg. King\'s Giant Swing is a lot faster than any other of his throws and requires faster reflexes to escape from).
3. More variation to counters and parries, especially chickens :
The chicken animation is always the same, how lame is that, bah. Give at least every character a personalized chicken counter (how about differing animations for attacks utilizing different limbs for at least visual variation). Also, more move-specific counters would be nice (like when Paul reverses King\'s Frankensteiner).
4. More moves, plain and simple :
Err... yeah, you heard me! Lotsa new ones!
5. Tons of characters
They can\'t be using many of the old characters if they\'re gonna follow the Tekken plot from T3, but I\'m hoping they\'ll come up with some good new character that aren\'t just revised versions of some old fighters. And if Lei\'s retired from the Tekken scene, so am I.
6. More tagteam action (maybe with more characters) :
In TTT there were too few team-specific tag moves, now it\'s time to make up for this little deficiency. Playing on the same side with a friend and really working together is great fun. The moves should also be more complex and the character who\'s waiting outside the screen should be able to perform a move of his/her choice and not just butt in and always do the same one (for example, Armor King raising the opponent above his head and King crashing in in the exact same way every time).
7. The same great control scheme :
How the heck could they change something that\'s already almost perfect... a button for a limb, so simple, so functional.
Hmm... turned out to be some wishlist then, not really all new ideas, but anyways. I could\'ve thought a lot of things more too, but I think I\'ve typed enough for the day.
Namco fixed some things the gamers had hoped for in TTT (such as being able to roll backwards immediately after hitting the ground and being able to stop a backward roll caused by a powerful attack)... which is all good and well... but not enough! :)
-
I want to see:if you go near other people in the background, they can push you,or punch you.
-
All good suggestions thus far. I think the main one would have to be a revise of the throw system, as Hawke said in real life it\'s not as simple as escape or suffer... they should definitely have a counter system. I don\'t really know how best they could do this, either a combination tapping, a fast tapping of buttons well timed during it... perhaps each character could have their own throw counter button sequence, that would make escaping throws fair, but it would also mean having a certain mastery of each character to be able to pull it off with everyone.
Another good suggestion is interactive backgrounds.... especially the idea of the spectators getting involved, that\'d be damn funny :D They should have a feature where you can fight the crowd, and if you do they all swarm.... hehehe, I don\'t think that\'s gonna be in the game though :D Also, as said if they have backgrounds, say in a street, but actually have along street you can move around in, and have the crowd follow, that\'d be awesome.
And a third thing which has been mentioned is the characters. Yeah, it\'s true they won\'t be able to use most of the oldies..... if Heihachi is in it again... damn I don\'t know what, they\'ll be bringing him out on a stretcher, it\'d be pretty insane. I want Paul, Lei, Law, Yoshimitusu, King, and all the oldies to still be around, so there are those familiar fighting styles.
But this time I\'d really like to see a bigger variation in fighting styles. Too often when a new character comes in it\'s just a carbon copy of another character from the game already, or a previous character that got the axe. This time they really need to have a big variation in characters. And if they do have the same familiar of two characters having similar fighting styles, ie. Jin/Kazuya/Heihachi, Yoshimitsu/Kunimitsu, all the damn jacks, they really need to VARY each one so there really is a definite difference in using each other. And by that I don\'t mean ONE character having all the good moves, they really gotta mix it up.
And one final thing, they really gotta have a decent boss this time. hahahah, Ogre sucked, true ogre was worse, and Unknown.... i don\'t know what the hell was happening there. It should be a NEW boss, with an ORIGINAL move set, not just another clone...
Anyhoo, I\'m a huge tekken fan and can\'t wait for what they dish up... but these are just a few of the things I\'d like to see in there.

I would like to see more original characters instead of inflating the Character Count by using lame rip-offs and calling them Sub-Bosses.
-
As you know, im a big tekken maniac
some improvements I would like
1. Interactive backgrounds, like in Doa2, but hell That ideas of iron fist is very good. You will know what I mean when you have seen that tekken tech demo.
2. More focuss on moves, make more moves nased on real martial arts. Dont make any cheap crap moves 9deathfist = yuck). Give Paul more judo moves (throws) and tone eddy down a bit.
3. Characters I want
Ling
Bob
Jin
Eddy (toned down)
Paul (kill the deathfist)
Nina
Jullia
Yosi
Gun Jack
Kaz!!!!! (please!!)
Lei
devil Kaz! (need some evil stuff)
devil Jin
king
4. Characters I dont want
Kuma , panda , Alex, Roger and Gone (its a fighting game not a zoo!)
Mokujin (hes just plain retarted)
All the other jacks + clones (ie Ganryu)
Hei (he\'s ancient and should already be dead)
all the crap bosses (angel, unkown, (T). Ogre)
5. new characters
new character focussing on drunken master moves (ala shun from vf)
A real shaolin monk
A female karate person
Another TKD dude (rival of bob)
6. New features
better combo/juggle system
Ability to turn of the sparkles
more air moves (such as grabing people outof the air and slamming them down)
better countering system ( not like doa2! plz)
more multithrows
better graphics

I\'d like to see Nina naked !
Oops...sorry...couldnt help myself
-
"I would like to see more original characters instead of inflating the Character Count by using lame rip-offs and calling them Sub-Bosses."
I agree 100% with that. Also I want to make sure some older characters remain in the game. Not that they get a new cast of characters like street fighter 3.
-
Naked women.....ohh and interactive backgrounds.
-
I would like to see realistic visible injuries on characters that would affect the controls. They might even get injured from backround objects like fall on a table, hit his/her head on something etc.It would be cool if the characters get confused or lose balance because of objects on the ground.
It will add more depth and realism IMO.Also clothes that get torn off, hair that get mixed up,sweat.....
Nah!!!I think I want too much.:D
-
basically i want a lot better backgrounds - i want it mor like DOA2 - i want to be able to go anywhere in the arena - not just in a circle
also i want more realism too - like what was said - about being affected by punches and stuff sounds cool - but not by every punch just big ones - and if this were to happen - i don\'t want any motion blur - as tha stuff ticks me off
then i wouldn\'t mind seeing a chick character that is acutally a decent fighter - i know there are some good ones but they need one that is powerful
Also a decent plot - i know this is not needed in a fighting game as they all have the same purpose - kill the big bad boss - but i want a real story - i want to know what motivates the chacracters to enter the tournament - i want to know it for everyone too
i guess i would b plenty appy wih these changes
-
First of all..they need to tone down the EWGF..that move is used more than pauls deathfist ..and twice as deadly.
Bring Nina back..and by that I mean the old nina that could kick ass..not the toned down nina in TTT. Seriously..Anna out ranks her now.
Make Annas elbow juggle on a non Charge
Get rid of the orges. They are so cheap..I usualy use them just to piss people off hehe ^_^. They are really cheap though..they need to go
Escapeable air juggles..maybe
I think the counter system is fine the way it is..maybe new animations for the chickens..but other than that I think its perfect..well make King\'s reversal chickenable.
Enough with Juilias elbows...maybe 2 or three in a juggle..but I dont want to be elbowed to death when I\'m launched in the air x.x
Thats all I can think off right now
Chars I want to see back
Jin
Lei
Juila
King
A-king
Anna
Nina
Law
Hei ( Yes..I want to see that old bastard back ^_^ )
Kaz is a must
Lee? Dont know if hes dead or not though
Bob
Michelle
Ganny
Devil Kaz
Yoshi
And thats all I can pretty much think off as of right now
-
I like Lee\'s style a lot.He rocks in TTT.I LL be happy if they keep him for T4.Although I doubt it as Ogre has some of his moves that indicate to Lee\'s death from Ogre.
-
Tekken wrestling would be cool, except King and Armor King would win all the time
-
how about a character which mixes Jin\'s moves with jullia\'s moves = EWGF and electric elbows! would kick ass!
-
as long as they bring back Bryan Fury i\'m happy
-
Oh, and one more thing. Get rid of Bryan Fury! :D j/k. Bryan needs a lot more moves, and his moves need to be toned down a lot (they take off way too much). He also needs way more low-hit moves because his current low-hit moves are too slow. I hope they fix him up a little if he\'s coming back.

That would so ruin the game

Those are pretty much all the reasons i want T4 to be good. Which we know it will not suck.
