In about 1 minute I am taking the guess 87...

I doubt it\'s right but it\'s just off the top of my head.  I don\'t have 15 minutes to spend looking at it.

Yeah, that\'s the number I first reached too... But then I thought a little more about it and I think I have the right answer. Well actually I\'m 99.9% sure. :)

Yeah, I edited the post from my first guess of 87 to 48 after a thinking about it some more. But it took 8 minutes total. :)

After about 3 minutes, I\'m saying 87... but there are other approaches too, leading to different outcomes... damn, tough one :)

I solved this one in 11  minutes when I did the test.
The code is very simple if you know some basis of this type of questions.


I explain.

Look at the numbers.

63 54 65 96

This is not a ordinary line of numbers, usally the numbers is in some kind of orders, like small number first and then large numbers, like

1 1 2 3 5 8 13

This one is simple
1+1=2
2+1=3
3+2=5
5+3=8
8+5=13

and finally 13+8=21

First of all try to find some kind of order, here is one, the last number in  63 54 65 96
is 3 4 5 6

Hmm here you have some clues, maybe..............

Hehe, it took me 3 min too, to get to 87... and another 5 minutes to figure it out (if it\'s correct).

I reversed the numbers like this:

36 45 56 69

Then I took the difference between the numbers:

45-36 = 9
56-45 = 11
69-56 = 13

So I knew the next number should have the difference 15 = 84 (84-69 = 15). Then I reversed the number = final result = 48.

But that\'s not the next number in the original string of numbers, but in your reversed one...? :)

I firmly believe the last digit in the answer is 7... or then I\'ve fallen for an evil scheme! :p

I hate maths.The only reason I don\'t flunk maths is that the teacher likes computers and I happen to know something about\'em,he\'s also a maclot and I happen to know a thing or two about macs. (lucky me)

There is another solution.

63-2  54-2 65-2 96-2   this gives:

61 52 63 94

Reverse

16 25 36 49

4x4 5x5 6x6 7x7

Answer:

8x8=64
 reverse

46

add 2

result 48

Very good

I think there is 3 solutions to this one, 2 of them gives 48 but the 3 gives something else cant remember.

I did these kind of test in the pre-military-test-thingy (sorry can\'t really explain it well right now, I\'m tired) as well, they were quite impressed with my test scores. I think I have a flair for those logic tests.

i got 48 as well within 8 minutes, i thought it was 87 but its not, and seeing as how smmy ol boy has explained it i dont have to prove my self, and i did figure it out
