I mean, I so do not see whats so good about it. Maybe it just isn\'t my type of game. The graphics were not as good as I thought they\'ed be.
Dissapointing.
-
for a console FPS. the graphics are superb.
i hate playing is because the control sucks.
gimme a mouse/keyboard combo, and ill change my mind
-
Exactly, playing with the sticks is weird...
-
after a week im better with the sticks than i am with a mouse i think the controls and graphics are awesome I love that game
-
I think its to fast for me.
-
##Racer## do you finally have you pal ps2?
I played Timesplitters, and it rocks ...its so fast..and the action is............superb
-
I Didn\'t really like it either, but it probably had something to do with me...
You see, after playing for about 15 minutes i started to feel sick. A lot of people experienced this
Shame really...
-
I rented it once, and it was alright. I killed my brother with dual tommy guns and stuff.
It didn\'t seem good enough for me to buy at that point, though. I\'ll probably get it for 15 dollars used 5 years from now or something.

Yeah same here; only thing is you can\'t have 4 ppl playing with mouse-keyboard. :(
-
I think the controls are fine. It just takes a bit of getting used to. Once you do, they work great.
-
this game is awsome, yes the controls are a bit wierd at first but they become second nature, i think they should of made a option to play with mouse/keyboard< but hardly anyone has one. But for a first generation game it is superb But that is the reason that it has auto aiming as you cant get the accuracy of a mouse. overall the game gets better the more you play so put the time in and i think you will love it
-
You guys may recall me saying it sucked a whule ago, and it still does.
If the controls were set up like the godly Medal of Honor, it would have been great, but they suck, I mean ALOT!! I was also not really impressed with the graphics. Maybe more detail instead of 60fps constant woul\'ve been good (wgaf if it is 30fps anyway)

Almost all PS2 launch games had sub par graphics, and Free Radical said the graphics weren\'t a prioroty months before they released the game
The control scheme is alright oncve ytou get used it, but in all honesty I didn\'t love the game either.
Although the game doesn\'t suck as some people seem to think.
The game is hard though
-
Oh yes, its hard as hell.
BTW Keep going ddaryl, only 3 more posts till 4000!

I think Timesplitters is an excellent game. I rented it the day I got my PS2, and I was blown away. I only had one controller at the time, so no multi-player for me :( Anyway, its 60 fps, is also why I like the game. If you are playing Timesplitters with 4 people, you barely notice the graphics because of the small ass screens, so I\'d rather have faster gameply then awsome graphics (which I think the game has good graphics) Even though I havent purchased the game, Im going to wait till I find it used or possibly 10 bucks cheaper.
-
im with altered beast
medal of honor 1 and 2 had the best control scheme
left analog controlled vision, and right analog controlled movement, with l1 and r1 controlling strafing
-
same here, Medal Of Honor had a great scheme.
I like the map making portion of Timesplitters. I set up a good map and set my friends to it like mice in a maze.
The graphics aren\'t bad and the framerate is great, but single player is kind of hashed together, like they got the graphics and engine down and said oh crap 1 week to finish the game.
All around good FPS for being rushed
Nothing beats the old 007 as far as fun console multiplay with your friends. Regardless of graphics, it was plain fun
-
I agree with ya man. I think timesplitters sucks too. I played it a t a friends house, the mutli player mode is horrible because the controls are so hard to manage. Why in the word the people who create fps\'s for consoles do not include keyboards and mouse with the game is beyong me.
-
Bought this game when I first got my PS2. Unfortunatly I was playing No One Lives Forever at the time and I returned it before I gave it a real chance.

So am I the only one who hates keyboard/mouse controls? I have them for DC but prefer the DC pad for Q3A or UT over them totally.
-
I agree with most of you when you say that the keyboard/mouse is the best way to go. But unlike most of you, I also love Timesplitters controls. The left analog stick is just like the mouse(looking), and the right analog is just like the keyboard(moving). I would never be able to get used to the right analog as the looking and the left as the moving. That is just too backwards for me because I am so used to the keyboard and mouse setup. I think Timesplitters has a great control scheme, and I\'m glad that others shooters on the PS2 are making the controls just the same (Quake III -- which, by the way, kicks butt! :D)
-
I happen to love Timesplitters - and my friends happen to like it too. I mean, I understand that the comical graphic-style ( and the graphics are good enough BTW. ) won\'t hit everybody, but it hit me - and I like the controlling scheme, as I\'ve gotten used to it.
The best of the launch games, really. Maybe Quake III beats it, but that\'s why I just might buy QIII for my ps2 :)
-
this is still my fav. PS2 game
I rented it once, and it was alright. I killed my brother with dual tommy guns and stuff.

TimeSplitters is not the type of game you play for 15 mins, to see if you like it...the controls take at least an hour to become fully versed in them (after that, they are easily the best controls ever in a console FPS, IMO) plus you wouldnt have unlocked anything, including hte multitude of playable characters, extra levels, cheats, and Challenge mode
in my opinion, the strength of the game isnt its deathmatches, its its Co-Op Story Mode...while i found it made the game much harder, it was more enjoyable than just about an other FPS on a console for me
BTW, i think the graphics are awesome, the characters and environments are surprisingly well detailed, and you hardly even notice it whern your playing, the framerate (a factor in the graphics, IMO) is top notch, and the size of the levels, and the redraw point is unreal
-
Nothing beats a mouse/keyboard combo for any FPS. You just can`t get that extreme level of control with a gamepad. If you think a gamepad is better than a mouse and keyboard you are just plain wrong.
-
If you think a gamepad is better than a mouse and keyboard you are just plain wrong
WTF!?! what kind of a statement is that??? a person preference isnt right or wrong
BTW, i think the controlls in timesplitters are pretty precise, even for a gamepad...especailly because it doesnt have much jumping (a little falling, but no jumping)
-
SUck? no.
Decent. Maybe.
The controls was "okay". NOt very good. I couldn\'t get used to them.
It was difficult, which had replay value.
But it was also extremely simple at the same time.
It was decent. Not much else.
-
It was difficult, which had replay value
i think i must be the only person in the world that found this game easy. which is one reason why co-op mode was so awesome, made it much more difficult
But it was also extremely simple at the same time
once again, this leant support to the Co-Op story mode, more than single player (something the game was definately not made for) being simple made it easier, and better to co-ordinate team strategies (you and your partner being the team)
-
The game sucks!
The controls are horrible,
It made me dizzy (sick)
I never understood why some people liked it.
Maybe they paid the $50 for it and were to embarrased to admit they got took.

Sorry, but did none of you notice that you can fully customize the controls? If you don\'t like the way they are set up (and I didn\'t either), then you can change it to any set-up you want. If you don\'t like the controls, therefore, it is nobody\'s fault but your own. Set them up like you want, then play a great game. The control scheme is not a valid argument against the game.
-
TimeSplitters is in my opinion very fun!
Yes the graphics are not sooooo good but they are okey!
I dont have any problem with the controles, they work fine for me.

Poor Bobby, fighting a crusade for Timesplitters. Keep fighting Bobby. Tell them how good it is. I\'m not a big FPS fan, so I won\'t join in the discussion.
-
me thinks it sucks too. FPS are for pc only
