Now before you all flame me for asking a stupid @ss question let me say this: I am not asking to become a mod, nor am I suggesting myself for a moderator. And I know we already have enough mods for the moment, and don\'t get me wrong, you guys are doing a great job. I am simply asking what do you guys think of me as a poster?

Don\'t know what the chances are of you becoming a mod.
But if the need arises for more mods I think it should be either Living-in-Clip or CygnusXI.Both level headed,unbiased come here often,don\'t post BS,have been here long enough,and know their stuff.:)

You\'re a good poster - and you learned from your mistakes ( sorry, but I do remember when you spammed quite a bit :) ), but I won\'t go into the discussion about 10 top mod-wanna-be\'s. I don\'t want to know if I\'m on the list, I want just to continue posting like I\'ve always had - and if a new moderator is appointed someday, I don\'t care if it isn\'t me - as I know admins make the right decision when they choose a person to moderate, and that\'s why we shouldn\'t even talk about these subjects, SS88.

I don\'t know, everyone is so friggin\' obsessed about being a moderator. When in reality being a moderator shouldn\'t be that big of a deal. I like how Sam (and Ddaryl) dealt with it. THey didn\'t make a big deal out of it, and when they do move threads they are pretty quiet about it. IT keeps the trouble down and they are unbiased.

RIght. When you ask to be MOD, I think it shows a certain "power trip" or at least the possible chance of a power trip.
EIther way, the current mod\'s are doin\' a fantastic job and I doubt we need another MOD. When that time comes, I\'m sure a good Mod will be choosen.

Well said Clip, and ddaryl makes a good point too. All those mods we have now never ever asked to be one. Those that did examples, Potatoecake, AlteredBeast, and others, will probably never become mods for doing so. It\'s not wrong of you to ask SS88, anyone would want to know. On this one though, I agree with Joyda, even if I was up there, I wouldn\'t want to know.

That is why I nominated you or CygnusXI,neither of you would brag and make a big deal out of it.You would just do the job.
But why be so obsessed with becoming a mod.You would have to set an example to the other posters and stop acting like fool\'s,and acting like a fool can be alot of fun :D

I wouldn\'t make a big deal out of becoming a moderator. Why should I? Moderators just can lock and delete topics. And they have their status shown as \'moderator\'. Why would I even expect to become a mod? Why should I even want to become one?
Nah. I will stay as respectful and loyal member \'til the end of the days, if that\'s what we\'re seeking for. I just ask with L-I-C: Why is everyone wants to become a mod?

i think some people want to be mods because they want people to look up to them and stuff - they want to have the power to do stuff not many can do in this forum
thats what makes some people want to be a mod

I think the reason for wanting to be a moderator for most people is simple. It is power, even if they wouldn\'t abuse it, it still is power. It makes them "stand out" above everyone else. Yes, its a lame reason, but its true.
Personally, I agree with No-One, why be a mod? You have to like set a standard for other users . As it is, we can act like idiots and it be okay.

I say, enjoy the board and don\'t worry if you\'ll ever be a moderator or not. If you are posting here, to become a moderator, then you are posting for the wrong reasons.

The reason why moderator-status is not given to those who ask it, is because the asker wants the status just for the power. The power, yes, separates the person from the cattle, but just because he/she has powers. But, if a member is wise and thoughtful, even he/she could get separated from the cattle - and we don\'t need no powers to that ;)
The fact that if a person is never chosen to be a mod doesn\'t make him bad poster. And why should you care even if you wouldn\'t have so much respect?
You scroll these forums and reply YOUR thoughts - and nobody can judge your personality. You are you, and nobody can change that fact. I hope you watch and post to these forums because of fun, not respect.
No offence, SS88, but it shows from your post that you would want to be a moderator, for the reasons of power or respect, but let me say you this: to me, I respect you as much are you a member or a mod - and I respect Samwise as much now as I did before he became a mod - to me, the status doesn\'t change the person :)

Hey, no offence - and I apologize if I offended you in any possible way! I\'m sorry...
There\'s just one problem - you have asked this question at least once before.
But don\'t crawl into the hole, come back. You\'re a great member, and you will remain a great member as long as you post or be selected a moderator - and that\'s why we need you to post here! You\'re one of the fastest posters these days, so don\'t be sad! I respect you, and I think many here do... and like I said, my respect won\'t grow towards you if you become a mod, as I respect you a lot for your wise and funny posts, and your positive mood on every subject ( and I don\'t want that to change so stop worrying :) ) - and I\'d be very sad if you\'d \'leave\' just because you misunderstood my post!

P.S. Actually this is the first time I have ever asked this question. I think once before I joked about how I was going to stay here forever until I eventually got appointed a moderator, but I never actually asked.

Hmm.. then I must be just making that up - but, my mind is known for errors and mistakes - so I just add this one to the section of \'terrible failures\' :)
But I do remember you asking about what we liked your post-style in general, and that lead to the discussions between you and some members about the subject of spamming - but let us not get back to those dark times. They\'re forgotten, and not recalled.
I\'m happy that you have that attitude. Let me include mine:
