Im trying to think about games i played in the arcades when i was younger, when i was young my family used to goto Ramsgate ( yea i know it crap but when you are young its so cool) as we got older me and my brother spent more and more time on the arcades and less on the beach. I cant really remember my first game i played but there are a few i remember with fond memories, one is double dragon that was so cool, there was other older ones but these the the newer ( after nes) really good graphics games at the time, there was one where you was a ninja and you had a dog that would attack people , do you remeber it, there was the cool "bad dudes", "splatter house" ( the original was the best),"narcs", "smash tv" "two crude dudes" where when you died and came back you would say " im back" but sounded soooo cool and they used to say cool things to dis the baddies like when you had a bloke with a flame thrower you would say " hot head", also there is one i cant remember the game completely, but my mate who i havent know too long remembers,2d, u are ablonde bloke, a nd yo have a pistol, baddies all where masks, blue, yello etc, each shows the type of baddie, you could go in rooms get guns, the bloke looks really tall, sorry icant explain it more but if you know what it is lease tell me. also there is one , 2p, iknow they had it on the megadrive, it was a war game but you could shoot in any direction and you had to pick up keys, which in parts of the level you could use to get new weopons, just before the last level, instead of weopons you would gat people who could give you stuff, one was santa, it was cool. if you remember theses tell me, but dont just put a list put some stuff about the game:D

-
It was so long ago.....
The earliest game that I remember playing was either the X-men game with 4(?) players or the TMNT game with 4 players. Whichever came first.
On a side note, am I the only one who thinks TMNT: Turtles in Time was one of the best games ever made?
-
yea i remember that x men game, if yo was 2p or 3p you coud see the game perfectly but any one else and you hadto stand at the side and it was so hard to see. turtles were so cool, notice how i put were as they are so crap now, however did i like them?

-
frogger.
Other early games I played were stuff like Pacman (the ones in the tables at all the pizza places, you remember!), roadblaster, double dragon, ninja gaiden, big mac, spy hunter - frogger came first for me tho (unless you count atari 2600 games, which I don\'t, cause they had about 40 pixels on the screen. stupid atari).

Chase HQ was BRILLIANT - oh man, I used to play that on my cousin\'s Commodore 64, jesus it was incredible I almost broke the joystick trying to ram those damn criminals!
Roadblasters was sweet too - I still have that for my Atari Lynx :)

It\'s funny when you guys write "It was so long ago..." and then you name X-Men or Roadblasters. Hah hah
You want "long ago?" The first video game I played was in a restaurant in San Diego, and it was PONG, man! We\'re talkin 1976 or thereabouts. Of course Space Invaders, Space Wars and Lunar Lander followed, and not too much later the legendary Galaxian.
Sometimes I wonder how you young(er) people see those old games. (Not the REALLY old ones like those I mentioned above, but the marginally old ones that are still very good; like Galaga, Defender and Robotron 2084) Would you actually consider playing one of these, even though it might have been built before you were born? Or would you just look at it and laugh? If you laugh, you are truly missing out on the great things in life, I assure you.

THATS IT!!! Spy Hunter HAS to be the first arcade game that I played...I think. Unless someone names an older one that I have played.....
-
oh the good old days sniff:)

Well for me the first was PacMan i sorta remember the tie - suprised i did - i was when i was like 7 years old
but the ones i remember playing a lot when i was younger was

I think it was Donkey Kong, which was in 1981. I remember Roadblasters. You had to hit those ballons to get fuel and stuff. It was pretty cool.
-
This wasnt the first Arcade game I played, just one of the coolest.
Anyone remember Time Killers?
That game rocked.
I loved the guy with the Chainsaw, and you could cut peoples heads off.
Damn that game rocked.
-
I don\'t know what it was called but the first one I played was a game much like Asteroids, only it was two player and you had to try and blast each other.
The second one I ever played was called Star Castle. Basically another Asteroids type game (mostly because of the look). You had to fly a ship through the screen blasting at the thing in the middle that had three or four (I forget) rings of shields around it that rotated in opposite directions at each level. The object was to blast the thing in the middle without getting blasted by it first.
-
I remember that one too. Cutting off people\'s limbs, and lots of blood. I don\'t remember if it was good though.
-
It rocked.
It was out around the same time as Mortal Kombat 1 or 2.
Had the same game play, just much gorier.
-
Gezz. I can\'t really remember my FIRST arcade game..
but i think the first game i played on arcade was either SF2 world warrior.. Or Goldern Axe. Ahh it cost 60c per game back then.. Being something like 8.. That was alot of cash to spend.
-
golden axe was cool, but my brother was always the dwarf, which everyone wanted to be:D It was funny when you completed id, and every one came out of the game and run up the street
