Hear are some of the details form Ed Boom, MK co-creator.
*MK5 will not make 2001.
*If we don\'t have it by 2002 we are in serious trouble.
*The only certain character is of couse Scorpion. But with Scorpion, one can expext Sub-Zero.
*We are still in the early preliminay stages.
*Well you can throw every thing you know about MK out the window, cause we are using a completely different fighting engine.
*Characters will absolutely show wear and tear as a fight progresses.
*MK5 the game will not be playable at E3.
*MK5 will interoduce new plot lines, as well as continuing some of the classic stories.
*The weapon system will be much more elaborate than in MK4.
*The Console versions will be DVD, so memory will not be a problem.
*I think you\'ll be surprised as to how soon you will images for the next Mortal Kombat.
*Expect a teaser within the next few months.
Well It sounds like this MK5 will kick some ass! I want to see that teaser! :D

I didnt care for MK 3 or 4. Here\'s hoping they get it right this time...

Well, it is good to see that they went back to the drawing board for this sequel. But, how many people care about the series after the horrible 4th sequel (and 3rd in my opinion)? IT may be "little to late".
MK needs more then the shock value that made it popular. So, hopefully they\'ll get it right. BUt, I don\' count on it.

MK2 was the best...MK3 and MK4 were pure and uter ****....this game better be in 2d because 3d just sucks.

Wow impressive logo.Two filters,Bevel and Eye-candy\'s smoke filter.
But I always liked the MK series it brought alot of fun into my life.I loved the original.

Mortal Kombat 2 was a great game. In my opinion, its the only game that can match the awesome quality of the Street Fighter series. 3 and 4 were duds( 4 was half descent but nothing spectacular).
I hope they get it right with MK5. It would be great to see that series become successful like it used to be.
Hehe...Mortal Kombat started the whole rating systems thing and videogame cencorship. It caused a lot of trouble with the game industry.

It\'s about time they said something new on MK5. They have been silent about it for over a year. I have always loved the MK series. MKTrilogy on the PSX was the best even with the bugs it had IMO because it had so many characters. MK2 comes in second place (I loved the fighting style before they went to dial-a-combos).

MK2 was by far the best of the series. You\'re right, the SNES version rocked. I had it my sophomore year of college, and I played it all the time.

I agree with you ironfist, they need to kill the mk3 combo system adn bring back mk2\'s old juggle fest.

I played 2 my fair share also. Two was the best one out of the series, the rest was trash.
Still, it is good to see they are taking their time with the game and aknowledge the failures of the last two sequels.

Yep, that\'s exactly what they think. I\'m interested to see what the new fighting engine will be like. Maybe along the lines of the Tekken engine? :D
Metal_Gear_Ray, my favorite combo was with Katana. When the enemy is in the corner, do the fan lift move (b,b,b+HP), then jump HK them in the air. The immediately do her fan throw, f,f,HP+LP. Then when you land on the ground, upercut them while they\'re still in the air. :) It was a great combo.
MK3 had some combos like that like Cektor\'s (sp?) 82% bomb uppercut combo, and Kabal\'s (sp?) 73% corner saw combo, but it was nothing like in MK2.

No, I didn\'t cut and paste that info. I hand typed all that info. I got that info from The Realm of Mortal Kombat. It\'s all Mortal Kombat.

I took a hiatus from gaming when MK3 came out so I guess I got lucky according to you guys. MK is easily my all-time favorite fighting game and I can\'t wait to get MK5.
I had a sweet move in MK1 w/ rayden. If you were near the edge and you throw your opponent and then immediately hit down+up to teleport you end up right by the guy before he has a chance to get up from the throw and you can immediately throw him again. With practice you can do this across the whole screen, and the other guy doesn\'t even have a chance to get up, which is a definite win.

I liked MK4,i had a real laugh with the game,for me it was a fighting game not to take serious,which i really liked at the time,but the best bit was fighting against one of your mates,the amount of times we would just sit there and laugh our heads off.

Yeah.. I remember doing cyrax\'s bomb uppercut combo, it was really hard though. Als both stryker (sp?) and sonya balde had some cool juggles. But it was nothing like mk2 :(
