Title: If Visual Concepts puts out the fuul sports lineup for PS2 who will stay with EA?
Post by: jiggs on April 14, 2001, 06:50:11 PM
Just wondering with the specter of 2K2 games coming to PS2 who would rather have those sports games over EAs.  Sorry thats full sports line up. I think 2k2 games will look great on the PS2.

It all really depends on what VC does. There\'s aspects I like from both games. Though in last year\'s case Madden had a ton of nice little touches here and there that I noticed over NFL2k1. If VC can add everything a football game should have, and match or surpass Madden\'s graphics, EA is toast. I have no loyalty for EA, I just preferred Madden over NFL2k1 last year.

I have no great love for EA. A few of EA Sports\' franchises (NHL, NBA, and Fifa in particular) over the past few years have been really poor. EA Sports have been the masters of underwhelming rehashes. I\'m sure Visual Concepts will provide staunch competition in the sports gaming department, and if EA Sports continue with their graphics over gameplay mantra they\'ll be in big trouble.

EDIT: My original message didn\'t make ANY sense at all -sorry.

EA may have a lot of experience with sports games, but I\'ve got an open mind - I\'ll buy whichever is better.

I\'d go with EA for hockey, and that\'s about it. Basketball and Football would be VC all the way.

EA\'s sports line up sucked this year. Madden on PS2 was to damn slow, and NHL 2001 was awesome but it had slowdown too. VC has some of the best Sports games out there, and i hope that they take out EA.

EA is making a game called NBA street....thats gunna be awesome.

There are diehard EA fans out there that love EA sports

I would waitr and see. EA is going on 2nd generation sports games on the PS2 so there should be some significant improvements to all there titles,

and VC shouldn\'t have much trouble getting peformance on PS2 but they\'ll still more than likely be slightly behind EA the 1st go around

If both EA and VC games get good solid ratings then I would test drive them both and decide fron there myself
