Hmmm, this hasnt exactly popped up before?
Realtime or CG?
I think CG would be better, but then again, realtime looks mighty fine.
-
I\'d wager the farm on CG. But hey, we shant be guessing much longer.
-
Ign has the introduction scene, or is it the trailer? but it looks alot like FMV....I dont know
-
with these 128 bits games is hard to difference the realtime secuences and the CG´s... I´d like more CG´s... ;)
-
Maybe you should break this into three options, and use different terminology:
Realtime CG
Prerendered CG video
Live action video [real cars, etc.]
As I recall, GT2 had live action video in the intro, so there\'s a precedent.
Who cares what the intro looks like anyway? I usually watch it once, and then I only look at it again when I\'m showing the game to a friend.
-
Yeah, but GT intro\'s are always brilliant, so I love to watch them over and over again. I would love prerendered CG/FMV.
Why would you want a realtime intro? I mean, you can watch the replays for that!
-
I hope GT3 intro will have real footage of the real cars racing on the tracks. Only the tracks that\'s is real in real life. :D
-
I\'m pretty sure they\'re going to go with realtime for the most time with some mixed in prerendered CG.
Remember the GT2 intro? It had some relatively low quality CG (which was believed to be concept art for GT on the PS2) and then they had some extremely high quality CG (like the S2000 in Rome), but seeing as these guys are extremely proud of their game engine I expect they\'ll be using it for most of the racing footage. And then they might have some pre-rendered CG for shots of the pit crews or fans in the stands, the truck arriving with the cars, somethin\' like that.
-
Gt3 looks better than that GT2 concept art CG sequence IMO :)
-
GT2\'s introduction sequence was actual GT2000 footage, not concept work.
ps2.ign.com had a report on it awhile ago.

early... early... early..., and very crappy footage.

i think cg is better because realtime is nice but cg looks like real life
-
I want CG.
