This is somewhat Off-topic, but it pertains to video games in general and in a way, the ps2 (as some imported).
Anyways, I am compiling a list of import sites along with information about them and a little rating system. (It will just be used to inform newbies in the importing biz... Wait! Don\'t order from upstate! :)) I have all the information I need right now, but I need ratings/reviews of import sites from people who have ordered through them.
So heres the quesiton:
How many of you have imported any video game related stuff or games? Will you please send me a personal message or post in this topic saying this:
1. The import site\'s name and URL that you went through
2. What you bought
3. Positive / Average / Negative Rating?
4. Short explanaion why.
5. Date ordered (for multiple orders, just say throughout)
Thankyou.
Again, this really doesn\'t pertain a whole lot to the PS2, but this seemed like the forum that it fit in the most.
BTW: One of my friends just got the MGS2 demo... Its awesome... Must go over to friend\'s house....

Lik-sang.com are good, but they only sell hardwared now, they no longer sell software.

Well I\'ve imported too much stuff to name them all, but here\'s some info.
1. UPSTATE GAMES IS TERRIBLE! They won\'t answer your email, they are slow, and they are always out of stock.
2. My favorite sites are http://www.videogamedepot.com and Buyrite.net
3. Don\'t use any site that you can\'t call on the phone. This is a policy I have for any site. They can ignore your email, but when you\'ve got them on the phone, you get results.
4. Other sites I use occasionally are http://www.ncsx.com http://www.therage.com and http://www.playthegames.com

Aaron, do you know any good JAP sites?
English preferebly...
-
I only imported twice. Once for a Pocketstation, and again for a PSX game called "Pocket Muu Muu" (for my pocketstation).
I got them at Tronixweb (http://www.tronixweb.com) and they were just fine.
They also carry US region games/hardware. :)

The only one I know is http://www.japan-direct.com
They don\'t have much though. That\'s where I imported my PS2 from. They were pretty good, and they are based in Japan somewhere.

Aaron: I wish I knew how terrible Upstate Games was before I IMPORTED MY GBA THROUGH THEM! I still haven\'t gotten the dang thing. Here I am and its possible that I might get the job at a respectable GB/GBA site and (its a big plus if you have a GBA already, of course) I don\'t have my gba in yet.
Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I went to IGN Pocket boads and there was a huge post (now 1000+) about Upstate Games...
If only I would have paid a little more money and gone through NCSX or Tronix....
Thanks for your input guys.
Here is the link to the temporary site (fuctionality first!):
http://thy_toothpick.tripod.com/ImportSites.htm
(As you can tell, at least right now, its mostly for GBA importing but it\'ll branch off later...)

Hahahaha Sucked in you loser.
Only joking dude, it suxs I know. I waited ages for my PS2.
-
Anyone else imported before?
Thanks for all the input so far...

I always use Express.com, or NCSX. Both are great.

Express filed for Bankruptcy, so I don\'t think they\'ll be around much longer. Upstate games charged me for GBA Castlevania a week ago, but I don\'t have it, they won\'t answer my email, and the number I got from my Credit Card company for them is always busy. Here\'s the number for those of you that want to call and yell at them.

I did not know that. :( I really liked them too.

Buyrite IS HORRIBLE. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM. http://www.ncsx.com is really the best. IGN uses them
-
IGN also says they use Upstate. I\'ve used Buyrite several times and they\'ve always been good. They are only a few hours from my house, so it doesn\'t take stuff long to get here. They also have a phone number to answer my queries.
Upstate emailed me back with a form message and thanked me for my patience. They assured me my stuff would be here soon.
