Yeah I know this is like the 3rd thread I have made about this but I want a new vid card dag nabbit and I\'ll make 100 threads until I get one!
Anyway pricewatch.com says I can get a Voodoo 5 for as cheap as $115, which is pretty darn good if you ask me. But what I really want is a GeForce 2 Ultra or a GeForce 3. Pricewatch.com also says I can get a GeForce 2 Ultra for about $299, which is also pretty good. Which one should I get?
And would someone please tell me the statistical difference between a GF2 MX, a GF2 GTS, GF2 Pro, and a GF2 Ultra(holy crap thats alot of different kinds).
Thanks.

well i say go with the Ge Force 2 Ultra
the VooDoo vid cards suck big donkey D|CK - i figured this after looking at the bottom of my Tribes 2 box and saw that it is bundled with the lowest compatible vid cards
plus i plan on getting a GE Force 2 Ultra sooner or later
i think the only difference in the other Ge Force varitions is Tv Out and MB and other differences - could be wrong though

I have a Voodoo 3500TV and it\'s been real good to me. I haven\'t tried Tribes2, though b/c I hear it has probs with 3dfx. I can honestly say they are good cards. What I really want is a Hercules Prophet 4500. Retails for $150 but isn\'t in stores until early May (or later).
I\'m building a pc from scratch now and the best deal I\'ve found is an ATI Radeon 32 DDR for $78.
If you can wait a couple weeks, then get a Prophet 4500.
If you want to get a Geforce then go for the II MX 64 MB or the Ultra. The 3, I\'m sure is awesome but do you really want to pay $500 for a card you will upgrade in 2-3 years?

Actually I have zero spare cash to buy a vid card with so hopefully I\'ll get one by Christmas(ugh). By then costs should have dropped majorly anyway.

Well, if your going to get your card at Christmas then I would recommend getting a Geforce 3. By then developers should be taking advantage of it.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking.

If you want a Geforce 3 then make sure you check these places for the lowest prices:[list=1]
- Techbargains (http://www.techbargains.com)
- Pricewatch (http://www.pricewatch.com)
- NewEgg (http://www.NewEgg.com)

well right now I have a GeForce 2 GTS but I\'m wondering if there\'s any need for me to get the GeForce 3 a lot of people are saying that if you\'re not a Die hard PC gamer or Graphics Whore then stick with the GF2 So get whatever suits you best. But everyone generally says GF2....

me too and i am happy with it for now - but i have a feeling that in six months i will need another one

I\'ve been really happy with my TNT2 32meg. It\'s still keeping up. I figure I\'ll buy a Geforce3 just after Xmas, I expect the prices will drop a lot around then. I had a Vodoo for a while, but it (though newer) didn\'t compete with my TNT2, so I returned it.

with my tnt2 and a 1 ghz comp i handle any game just fine

Sorry to tell you this, but the TnT series is getting outdated.
