Unreal is out now in Europe, and I wonder if it\'s the same than the US version, since it has been more than 6 months than it\'s out in the states....
I can\'t decide between UT and Quake 3.....which one is better ?
-
I have bought Q3 and it´s superb !!! Also it has no M&K support...
UT has Mouse&Keyboard support, but I don´t think that it looks so good !
-
ut is out ? havent seen it in shops yet, when was it released.. (UK)
-
Released yesterday in France so I guess it\'s the same for you guys in UK
-
its meant to be out today the 20th in the uk
-
i just took q3 back for unreal, ( im in the u.k)and boy it was worth it, its so much better, ive put a thread so read that if you see what i thought of it. but in my opoinion its much more better
-
I haven´t played it yet, is it better than Q3?
-
well i prefered unreal by a lot, but some people dont, after the first game of q3 i could tell i didnt really like it, and was waiting for something better to happen, but it never did :crying: but from the moment i put unreal on i could tell i was in for a good game :D ive put a thread here not long ago about it i think it was" am i the only one..."
-
Today I bought it and the only bad thing is the framerate
The best thing:
IT\'S UNCENSERED
-
Ok the other bad thing is that you can only use a very short name
-
Well truthfully i\'ve played neither but i\'ve read and seen footage of them both (PS2 Versions).
Unreal in my opinion was better on the PC than Quake 3 was.
However for the PS2...
My opinion is Unreal is a letdown, the game is really slow. It seems poor compared to the PC version.
Whilst Quake 3 seems to have converted nicely. With lots of options and a fast framerate. All the magazines i\'ve read seem to rate Quake 3 highly whilst Unreal has been rated pretty poorly in a lot of them.
Also Quake 3 came out in the UK faster than Unreal in terms of the forign counterparts so go for Quake 3, it will teach developers not to produce naff port overs and not to expect us UK gamers to wait years for them.

so what if the game doesnt play as fast, the gameplay of unreal is soooo much better, you cant really say as you havent played them. Unreals weopons are better and more varied, you can kill any one with ease with any gun on q3, you cant do that on unreal. The game feel so much solid then q3, and i personally think the graphics of unreal are superb, there no way as bad as people make out. unreal is much better than q3, the reason people keep thinking its really bad is because they keep comparing it to the pc version
-
Hey Quake 126 and Unreal 3004 are on the PC better than Quake Revolution and UT on the PS2 ;)

Yeah you have a point actually! I haven\'t played the PS2 versions but I have played the PC versions.
Like I said originally I think that Unreal is better than Quake 3 but prehaps on the PS2 its the other way round.
As for firing and hitting with any gun in Quake 3 that does seem a bit poor and I know what you mean from the footage.
My opinions were really just a mixture of my PC version opinions and many reviews / footage I have seen.
I would rate them:
Quake 3
Timesplitters
Unreal
It is all down to opinions in the end and all the things that kopking said i\'ve also read about too. :)

Timesplitters sucks!
You cannot jump, the textures are bad, it\'s slow and the singleplayer missions are boring.
