So do you know if an american ps2 will work on an english Sony wega tv?
I need to know as soon as possible please: )

it should i don\'t see why it wouldn\'t
i mean i am sure people move around the world and that there tvs work with the appliances that other they pick up
besides a japanese PS2 could play a American game just that the region code wouldnt allow it
so software has region codes not tvs - so it should work fine

I hate to burst your bubble, but it actually WON\'T WORK. See, here in the USA, and in Japan, we use the NTSC standard. Our TVs use a different power supply standard. NTSC provides 50 HZ of resolution. The EUROPEAN STANDART is PAL which is very different. A PAL complaint PS2 won\'t work with a NTSC TV, and a NTSC PS2 won\'t work with a PAL TV. Don\'t try it ooseven. You\'d be wastingyer hard earned pounds

Indeedy,
Animal Mother is right, you\'ll need a multi-system TV, or an NTSC-to-PAL signal converter, regardless of whether it\'s a flat screen or not.
Also make sure PM Julien, and find out about the Step-Down converter/transformer - you don\'t want to blow up your PS2 either!!!

But my japanese DC works on my little sony tv,it can display both pal and NTSC,so i think i should be ok.
