Title: Funny Shiznit...Did Sony Inspire the Xbox Look?

If you are an Xbox sleuth like I am, then maybe you remembered the Xbox designer (Horace Luke) saying that the Xbox design was inspired by car amps. Could Sony\'s own Xplod be the design that inspired the Xbox? I believe so. It\'s not a big deal, but if the Playstation2 was called instead, the Sony "Xplod", then we would be in the middle of a heated controversy (and a lawsuit). Well, I guess Sony does have the best designers in the world... :D

Post by: inteq on April 23, 2001, 03:09:07 PM: Lay the PS2 on it\'s side and you will see how bad of a design it is. Sony seems to have made it to stand on it\'s side and it looks really funny in any other position. It is almost like haveing a PC tower and putting it on it\'s side, it just doesn\'t look right.

I understand your point, but the fact of the matter is that the Xbox designer actually used car amps as his inspiration. I was pointing out how Xplod must have been the amp that he got his inspiration from. The fact that it\'s a Sony amp makes it much more interesting.
