Post by: FatalXception on April 24, 2001, 09:14:47 PM: Make sure you twink out your connection as much as possible, first thing. I used to get about 30k/s with my cable. Then I twinked it out, now I get 60-100k/s. If I use a multistreamer, I generally get 150-350k/s. Take the time to really fix up your registry settings for BB.

I hated my 56k, and I certainly hated my 36.6k...

Well, I have DSL too. I thank God for that every day because I\'m an Internet addict and I didn\'t have flatrate when I used dial-up (oh, the horror!). :)

It takes a lot of reading, unless you want to make your connection overly favor downloading over streaming or gaming. Either way, it will improve all your speeds if you run the reg edits (or do them yourself).

Thank you so much for that link!!! I did what they recomend, check this out.

I used to d/l at between 60-25 Kbps......

NOW!!!

I d/l at 130-70 Kbps...Woooohoooo. I got a 5.22 meg movie of Rumbe Racing in 1.5 minutes, before it would take about 5 minutes.

I got my DSL hookup through the phone company, bastards, why don\'t they (or the ISP I\'m with) tell us these things???

Oh well, I\'m happy now:) Thanks again for the link man!!

Be sure to back up your registry before making changes. Some of the so-called speedup registry suggestions floating around are bogus and do nothing. Others are valid improvements. Either way it\'s always nice to know where you started.
