What I mean is how did you get here, how long have you been here for, what major stuff have you done on the forum, and how many different usernames have you used?
I came here in September of 2000. If I remember correctly I was directed here by a PS2 website. For one reason or the other I thought this was an official PS2 website for a while.
I first registered under the username DarkArchonZERO, which is my other internet alias for most things. I, like many others, acted like an arsehole- spamming threads, starting flame wars, ect ect, somehow thinking that by portraying the image that I was tough would make people like me. Fortunetly the reign of DarkArchonZERO on the PSX2 Central forums was short lived, and after about a day I changed my name to Solid Snake 88.
As many people know, in my early days I was quite a spammer. Not on par with some of the mindless trolls like BlahBlah and Co., but still enough to annoy some people. I eventually changed my ways and while I may not post as much as before, I think my posts are much better thought out and written. Which brings us to now.
Lets hear your story.

Used to post at PSX2.net before they folded up.
Needed a new place to hang when I stumbled onto PSX2centrals forum in MAy 2000
Posted alot and still do because I have a cushy union job
One day I posted on the forum and its says moderator. Everyone including myself thought it was a mess up but Bjorn decided one day to mod me
its been a fun ride
-
Yes! Everyone post in this topic! I need this information for Legacy of Emotion.
-
I followed the link from PSX2Central one day and joined up. This is one of the very few (hehe, you should all feel priviliged! j/k) boards that I regularly post on. I\'ve only had 2.5 handles in the past:
Tomcat/Tomcat666/Tomcat69 (from age 5, the number thing was a dumb 12 year old thing that I never dropped)
FatalXception/FatalX (ever since I was 21, less than a year, heh heh).
I realized that Tomcat/Tomcat666/Tomcat69 was (a) not a unique name by far, and (b) not a cool name to have. I\'m the only FatalXception on ICQ, so that\'s good enuf for me (nobody sign up another one just to screw me, ok? ;) ). It was especially apparant when I was playin\' Unreal Tournament.
-
Haha, well I\'ve always been EmperorRob here, but I used to bug the hell out of people over on the Red Alert 2 message board under the alias Lieutenant Ching-Chong.

My history is quite interesting...
I heard about this place at the N64cc forums. I looked around here often and decided that I was going to leave N64cc to join this place since it was more exciting. But instead of just leaving N64cc, I told off mm and got banned on purpose!
When I arrived here, I spammed. In fact, at the end of my first day here I had 112 posts!!!! No one really noticed me until I started acting like an idiot. At that time I was kind of a Nintendo fanboy saying bad stuff about PS2 all the time and I constantly got into fights with other members.
One day, I posted a topic about Crash being on GameCube...I was temporarily banned for that. When I was banned I hanged out in the chat room wishing that I not banned( Cypress and Bob would remember this).
Then, mm came in and with in a nice gesture he unbaned me.
After that I got into more fights. I swear I was like the Triple H of these forums. Everyone hated me and I loved it!
Then one day(in November I think), I got into a major fight with SyxxKorn. I was really ripping him up( no offence TOBG). In one of his threads where he was like " I\'m a changed person now", I posted a pic of some guy giving us the middle finger. Soon following that, I was banned by SoulGrind (aka Loser...).
When I was banned I just hanged around NintendoNation(under the name of Ganon) and at consoledomes(under the name Link). It was actually pretty amusing posting there for that period of time. I had fun there. It should also be noted that both of these forums are down. :(
About 3 weeks after I was banned I talked to SG on ICQ then he unbaned. I came back with a thread named, "finally, Jumpman, has come back, to PSX2Central...". Everyone was pretty surprised to see me since I was gone for such a vast amount of time.
Ever since then I kind of cooled down a bit. I got into arguments about consoles( I haven\'t been in one of those for a long time now..) a lot but I never got into a fight again unfortunately.
Well that\'s my history. :) A once renegade and silently turned into a regular poster who no ones notices anymore. My time in the spotlight is over. I don\'t nearly post as often as I used too and this place has become extremely boring. Hopefully after E3 that will changed. :)

I came to this forum around late Dec 99 and wasn\'t able to register until Feb 00 because the forums were haveing some problems. I ended up here by, uh, um, hmm I really don\'t remember. I think this forum might have had a link on gamefan.com or I was just typing psx2------ in the address bar and ended up at psx2central then followed the link on the homepage. Oh yeah, I\'ve only had one user name. I was also away for the forum for about two months due to PC and internet problems, hdd crashed and I got rid of dial up for BB.
-
I found PSX2central just by typing in playstation2 in a search browser.
I\'ve been comming here for about 8 months now. Ever since I got my computer.
I think I signed up for the forums last year but never used it so I forgot my user name.
So I have only been using these forums for about 3 weeks now. But a lot in the last few days cause I\'m on holiday but my girlfriend is at school.
-
I started hanging out at PS2NOW sometime waaay back. The place was totally full of PS2 hating idiots and I really didn\'t like the place because of them.
Next, I stumbled upon PS2Lair, and I think I\'m still registered there. Shortly after I found this place and somehow it felt better than all the other forums, so I\'ve been coming back here ever since.
I haven\'t done much for the forums, but some of the smilies used here are made by me.
( :hold: :nut: :snore: )
-
well, I found this forum by clicking on a link button at gamefan.com(rip), that was somewhere in may2000, after that I was a guest on the boards for about 6 months,
as you all know I\'m not much of a trouble maker in here (I think), I try too sound as a nice person in here, however when flamers and people the like come in and ruin the fun I can get a bit angry and start talking **** to them.
I don\'t really know what else to say, so this is it
-
I came here 7/3/2000 because I heard BAD things about it at Nintendo forums (of course I had to come). I posted lots of crap and got my picture. Then, when the PS2 launched, since I couldn\'t get one, I left. Last month Avatar convinced me to come back, and here i am.
-
I started reading these forums somewhere back in 99, yes thats ages ago. I was searching for a cool ps2 website at yahoo and found ps2web. From there i found a link to psx2central. I was a regular visitor for a week when i noticed that the site had forums :) Since then I have been a "Lurker". I remebered it very well. Soulgrind was still called nathan. MM was a die hard regular poster. MMs chimp wasn\'t called clyde yet...aaahh old memories of flamewars! with ramnstein, segakid and many others. I continued reading the forums till about a week before ps2 launch. I was really fun at the time. I can clearly remember the "countdown thread" (over 40 pages long) and the infamous "kick!" topic! I signed in as liquid snake, but I soon forgot my password so i signed in as Metal_gear_ray! :).
-
i dint used to have this computer and the internet, but about last summer my mum got a pc, i didnt take much notice of it a first, but when i got my ps2 the magazines were really crap, as a game would come out but id have to wait a few months to get a review about a paragraph long, so i decided to look on the internet for reviews, i found many sites some werent that good, but i found a quite good one in plastaioncentre, thats when i found the forums there, at first i didnt sign up, but i watched the forums, they looked fun, so i joined up, but they took ages to put up what you said, like 30 ins, i always felt as if i was the only one there, but there was a lot of people there, slowly this place went down hill, members left, and annoying people joined, there was one bloke called Da predator, he kept getting banned but coming back as someone else, it was fun at first flaming him, but got very boring. I left there looking for a new place, i came here through a link, i liked the way this place was set out, and when i came to the forum it was very alive and fun, so i joined up, it was so much faster and fun than the old website, and here i stayed

I found psx2central in March or May of 2000, trough Ps2web I think. I had visited Ps2web reqularly for about half a year already, but I instantly found this site much more pleasing and fun - with better design and great reviews. I visited this site about once per week, reqularly - but I didn\'t notice the forums ( nor didn\'t know what they meant anyways - I thought it was a \'chat\' ). Time passed and I got bored, as the launch of the PS2 was very near, so I checked out the forums - lurked few days, found it really cool and registered, under the name of Joyda.
I remember Soulgrind still having that good ol\' grinding -pic back then :)
Some of the fastest ones already had their Ps2\'s here, I believe, but I had to wait for about a month after my registering to get one. I was almost immediately recognized as a \'fast poster\', and hey, I have the second biggest post-count here ( not that I would care about it ).
Oh and I do remember the PS2 EUROPEAN COUNTDOWN -thread, made by Azeroth. It was a fun one.
I had my 500, and my first avatar was Yoda in his purest form - it was quite humorous pic and I remember Potatocake saying it looked like his hairy left \'ball\' :)
Then came ( I can\'t remember whom started them ) the large war between the good side and the dark side, and I changed my avatar to something more \'official\'.
Well, I lost the war quite fast, and decided to join the dark side - and now I have my master Soulgrind. So I asked him to change my name as to prove everyone that I\'m a dark apprentice now - there from my current name Darth Joyda was born, and I picked again a new avatar, as the old one didn\'t quite match my name anymore. And this eye it has been \'til then, and will be \'til the end of times... BWAHAHA...
But fun it has been - soon my 8th month here begins...
-
I can\'t even remember how I found this site... I think it was through a link from one of the affiliate sites or perhaps a search for PS2.
I lurked a while before signing up in July 2000. I quicky became a regular and had fun discussing the various topics. I enjoyed the chat a lot too, and got to talk with a small core of members that I still enjoy talking to on ICQ to this date - thanks guys, I\'m glad I\'ve met you. This post is dedicated to you. :)
Then one day.... I was appointed the fine position of being moderator. And of course I accepted. :D
-
I work at Bjorn\'s n64cc site so I met him and mm there... I came here when the site started to see what Bjorn was up to... I remember I first posted on the board when it had like 3 posts between Bjorn, mm, and some other guy...
After that I took off... came back in like a year and was amazed how far it came. I posted for awhile as a mod and disappeared again. I\'m back for a while now... It\'s definitely the best board I\'ve seen, but I\'m not a big enough PS2 fan to have that much fun around here.
I try my best. :)

I use to post at gaming-age,but they are all a-holes over there, then i was just surfing a stumbled on to the website, and have never looked back since.God i dont know what i would do with out this forum.
-
I was looking for PS.2 sites.Wrote stuff like psx2center.com and stuff in the browser, until I finally wrote psx2central.com in my browser and this little gem of a site popped up.
I started lurking on the forums did so for months,I remember when ddaryl and Sammy were just newbies :D,Soulgrind was still Nathan etc...
Didn\'t register till October (sadly :()
Now I\'m hooked on these forums.
-
I came here because Hawkey recommended this place. So I said I\'d register. Well, that was easier said than done, cause they wouldn\'t accept my one & only e-mail address. So I made a couple of new ones, but they were unaccepted too. Finally I got an address through. At first I was too shy to post anything, so Hawkey made a thread called "to SmallLady" heh. So I posted there. Then I started posting to other threads too. And finally some people started to notice me, mostly because I\'m a girl. They asked a lot of questions. Like was I really a small lady. Stuff like that. It was nice. Then I remember when the chat started, it was great, talking to other members. I felt close to a couple of them, especially Samwise! But those days are gone thanks to the closing of the chat.
During my stay here I\'ve encountered some great people, but idiots too, as is inevitable. Sometimes they have made me furious. Most of the time I\'ve just ignored them. Then there are those kids who don\'t believe I\'m a girl. I really don\'t think much of them. Then there are the arrogant bastards who just wanna fight. They\'re funny. But, most of the posters here are great & intelligent.
Such is the story of my memberhood. It\'s been great and I don\'t intend to ever leave! Bwahahahahaa

my history at message boards is quite long.
In the middle of 1999, I joined the ShinForce message board after looking around for import Saturn games and looking around at Final Fight Revenge news. After a couple weeks of looking around at the page, I joined and posted frequently at the board, which is still up today, just in a shadow of it\'s former self. At the time I joined it was a very popular board, for it\'s time, Chris, Kelly, Shinobi, MGX, Crash, etc were very frequent there and we had our in depth discussions about sega and the rest of the videogame world. Crash was a big time Sony and Nintendo fan (we finally converted him THIS year to buy a DC and he has never been sorry for that fact, especially with all the cheap games you can buy now!)
During the summer months, though that board always cooled down, so I ventured out looking for other Sega boards, as my fanhood lied after my third PSX broke down (always been a Sega fan, I was just more open to buying console from other companies at the time) I went to Webcrawler, my ONLY search engine and typed in Sega messageboard. I joined under the name NeoSega, my name as it is on EVERY board besides this one (I registered on NeoSega here first, then forgot the password :)) Immediately I fell in love with the members there. The moderation was swift and exact, therefore there was no fanboyism, no fanboy fights and no crap on the main forum. Some notable posters we had were Sonic (a Sega worker, provided many usefull facts and help), Egg Robo X (a kid who got caught lying about his uncle working for Capcom :)), Ktulu / Wiseblood (used to frequent this board, the most knowledgable, unbiased poster in my experience! H3@t, (a fun guy!) DC Hypno (jumped out of window in every post!) including everyone else.
I was highly revered there and did a weekly feature on past Sega rpg\'s that was a fun topic. I miss that place and was deeply saddened that one of my hobbies closed down at the beginning of this year when it closed down,as the owner was tired after all these years.
During this time, to fill my insatiable appetite for posting, I also joined UGO\'s board, DC tech pages, and a couple of others I never really posted at.
Than in Jun,I started looking around again,a nd had heard good things of this board, originally as a high basher of Sony and an informer of the wealth that Sega brings to all that succumb, I posted here. At first, I argued with many (and usually won, btw :)) but then settled down adn decided to take the mellow road and decided to buy a PS2, as Sega decided to make for it, and TM:B was coming, among others. I realized all platforms have good games to play, but still love to argue with fanboy sover anything, which is the reason you will usually only see me post in the console debating section, and not the main forum as it has become boring as of late.
thanks a bunch!

Whell.. what an interesting little post.. I was looking through some search results when I accidentally stumbled on this. I have to say, the relatively thin volume of replies shows the grim situation as far as the population of the hard-corers here, is concearned.
Back in the early days, when hype was rife and excitement high, all sorts of colourful hardcore characters were here (barring all the trouble makers). I fondly remember the names of Oyuki, Regent Webber, Dolbytone, etc. regualry gracing these boards with their wise words of wisdom.
I remember the old private forum, establshed as a safe haven for all true fans to discuss the PS2 in peace. Oh the hordes of DC fanboys and PS2 detractors were simply amazing. The atmosphere was akin to the one presented in 182way\'s adorable little RPG.
After some assertive measures, things began to quiet down and the old private board was closed. The Off-Topic board was soon opened and so began my reign as a forum moderator, my kingdom as it were. The same month, my iron fist wrapped itself arround a reformed X-dome, as I took my post as 2nd in command.
Great things were destined to happen since. The most memmorable of which was the massive Kick Thread. Many sought to match is glory with cheap spam fests, but 500 word posts of pure creative energy made certain KICK was uncontested. None could compare to the sheer greatness, that was KICK.... (over 20 pages long)
Unfortunatley, what should have been solid history became the stuff of mere memmory, as KICK\'s sheer weight failed to make the trip to the new forum server. It was lost in digital oblivion, never to be seen again, its story told only by the Psx2Central Elders, who lived through it.......
And so began the spate of downs that were to dog every medium/large fansite on the internet. Cashflow problems emerged as due payments for ads were so maliciously left unpaied. Data traffic restructions resulted and eventually.... the FORUMS WERE CLOSED!!!! I consoled myself with, whell.. ConsoleDome and sought to fill the void.......
Until school imposed its overbearing weight on my unprioritised schedule. As time\'s eternal wheels rolled to leave the past behind, so did my time for leasure. Each new day saw more homework on my desk, the workload, seemingly riding on some morbid exponential function. Fate\'s inexplicable cruelty saw it fit to use this, to keep me off-line for weeks at a time.....
My long absence resulted in things, undesired.. Shotly after the Forum\'s re-opening, I was declared unfit for office, my moderation powers - retracted. And here I am, the bulking shell of a forum poster, closing this post at the grimest of closing notes. :( :crying:
Fare thee well ConsoleDome
Viva la Uniconsoé!!
and
SmallLady thinx my "Knight Talk" :CUTE:!!!!

Wow, another great topic gets blown away by the members. I swear we could have a 3 page topic on apple juice...
Anyhoo, a historical event occured for myself today. After numerous pic changes I finally got the best pic. No one comes close to mine now. NO ONE! Muhuhhuhuhahahaha! Bow!
thank you, mm! :)

I started of at Nintendo Next Gen. It was a quirky forum of Nintendo zealots and one PS2 fanatic (Kenny73). I posted there for a while until someone mentioned how everyone at Nintendose sucked because they were stupid(or something like that) so naturally I went there.
I posted at Nintendose and CoreMagazine(What happened to them?). Eventually someone started a thread at Nintendose talking about the snobs at NintendoNation. So I had to go. I was there for a while and yet another thread about the PS@ fanboys at PSX2central started up. I went and lurked for a while and eventually registered under IcebergSlim(My name on all other message boards). I posted really slow at first and then I changed my name to Gohan and my post count went up drastically. I have been here ever since. This forum and a frat forum are the only forums that I visit everyday.
-
lurked here for a while, and registered while the forums were still that brown colour and Ddaryl was only 300 posts
didnt post much...started to post unnecessarily at times, straightened up. became a responsible member. hated jumpman (hes alright now though :))
during my many months here, ive encountered many friends, SoulGrind (who i like to call Jack Ass), Samwise, Aaron, Small Lady, Starr, Weltall etc. but probably got along with Phil (the crazy New Zealander) the most, even though i did believe he spammed a bit.
Most memorable moment at the forums for me would be the chat room. haning out with Samwise and others. Listening to Small Lady speak (after much persuasion), listening to Samwises strangely asian accent, and many others.
next on my list of best memories would be the great battles Aaron and I brewed up in the infamous *Kick* Topic. i hated that topic, and found myself against it after a while. however, aaron and i sparked it up and made it pretty interesting.
while most of the people ive encountered are interesting, some of the members really do get on my nerves a lot (even some of those \'well respected\' members, who will remain nameless)

Argh ya bastard! I\'m not Asian - not that there\'s anything wrong with that, I\'m just not. I\'m proud of my Danish accent. :D

well, after about a month of CONSTANT nagging both in person, and on the internet, Bobs_Hardware finally convinced me to visit, and sign up at two sites on the 13th of september last year. Those forums, Psx2central, and ConsoleDome. I went to both, and signed up at both, however for some strange reason when I signed up here, I received an error, and my password was not mailed to me. I didn\'t know what happened, so i started posting at consoledome. Assuming I wasn\'t able to sign up here, I posted at Consoledome, and that was my home forum (until it died just a few days ago :( )
Well, a few months ago, after a bit more nagging, I decided to check if in fact I was signed up here. Turns out I was.... so I got my password mailed to me, but I was so late in coming here that I didn\'t really get used to the fast pace, and as such didn\'t post here full time, just a few here and there. In the middle, I signed up at ps2lair, which I also left a few months ago because my Uni work load was getting pretty big. It\'s all over now, and so is consoledome, so I\'ll be visiting these forums a fair bit now, to read and post, and I\'ll also go back to the lair.
Forum posting has been awesome for me, I\'ve met people from parts of the world I never thought I\'d meet people from, and they\'ve all been cool. I\'ve even met another bunch of awesome Aussies. I speak to them all on icq and it\'s to bob I owe this, so kudos goes to you bobbage.
That\'s all from me :)

I came to this site as Diamond Dallas Page and figured I would only post here a couple times to get my questions answered about my decision to get a PS2... I soon felt I related to a lot of the subjects... and felt a yearning to stick around... so one day in September, I decided to come back here... but I didn\'t like my name anymore, so I registered as Syxxkorn. I felt welcomed, with a lot of questions approximatly a month before PS2\'s release. Everybody helped me, and gradually developed a name for myslef... then came some of my darker days... I developed rivalries with fellow members, and people lost respect for me, and I became an enemy to some... so I ditched the site for a while... I couldn\'t resist coming back though... that\'s when my post craze took a sky high... I went around to sites get all the news I could on PS2 and people got angry... Things started cooling down... and my dark days were over... I calmed down, the rivalries were over, and I started gaining respect... when I hit 1000 I wanted to ditch the account, but instead just asked the administrator to change my name and pic... I started a new life here in December as "The One" Billy Gunn, with a new, more serious attitude. My posting became above average... then pushing the limit... then spamming... but it quickly calmed down after talks with the mods... People respected me, it felt good. I was a dedicated member, when I was at the top of my game when... the forums broke down... I checked here day in and day out... weeks passed... I gave up on the site... but then I came back and one day they were fixed... sorta... anyway, we had forums none the less... I am was well remembered, respected, and took pride in my post, and that\'s when I decicated my nights to PSX2Central forums... and here I am... a Staff Member... with a long history here (okay 6 months...) and things are great...
that was an excerpt from the book "The History Of my Life on the PSX2Central Forums", go to your local book store to purchase the full 512 page book, published by Random House...

I began posting at NintendoNation\'s forums in July; one of the first major topics I recall seeing was NPLAYER\'s topic: "PSX2Central the most biased site on the net!" That\'s how I got here. This isn\'t true today, and if I wasn\'t a thickheaded dolt at the time, I probably would have realized it then.
Isn\'t it amazng? NPLAYER was one major cause of this forum\'s acquiring a bad reputation for a long while, simply because he made topics like that on a multitude of messageboards. Pathetic dolt he was, and still is. ;)

SyxxKron - you changed your name and pic to a pro wrestler with a purple backround and think you earned more respect!!! hahahaha!!

I read about some forums in late Sep. early Oct., on another website, right before I got my PS2, and was a lurker here for about a month or so. I finally registered when a topic caught my fancy and now, this is one of my fav. boards.
And yeah, I remember SS88\'s early days. You had about 150 posts by the time I had 10 in! :D
Since then, I\'m happy to say you have mellowed out and have become a productive member of society! :D I\'m glad I stayed here, because this is a great board with some great folks!
It is much, much better here than the Everquest boards I used to haunt, which have gone the way of the dodo, thank the Lord!

Well heres my story its not very long:
Well i found this site around its begining in 99 when i was a library aid in highschool, but i never went to the forums i just went to the main page for the news - i liked how they got news from everywhere so i visited the site everyday at school and then one day not so long ago almost a year later i said hey i think i will see what this forum thing is all about...so i went ahead and registered on Oct 1, 2000.
Life as a Member Here:
Well when i first came to the sites i didn\'t really know how to be noticed or what to post about so i just responded to what i thought interested me and someone else hadn\'t said the samething as me. So after a couple of months i built my post count to about 300 posts and then in february i decided to build up my post count, being sick and at home all day didn\'t hurt either...so i would post at least 50 posts a day - and then i started to pass up some of the other people that has passed me up when i registered in Oct. Eventually after the whole Spam Wars, as i call them, i had posted almost 1000 posts in a month and the funny thing is not many people noticed since i didn\'t spam - i really didn\'t - but after the Spam Wars ended i was now a good old member that everyone noticed - so since then i have been me and posted almost everyday - just not like i did in Feb though
thats my story and i am sticking to it

No. He got respected for drastically changing his attitude.
You know someone is respected when I stick up for him...

I stumbled across the main site when I was trying to import a PS2. I then submitted a review, and got hired. As I explored the site, I found the forums, and checked them out. This was in late April of 2000. I didn\'t really see the point of the forums, there was a bunch of arguing, and endless discussions about which system was better. Slowly, I became more interested, and I registered as Bearsfan. I couldn\'t retrieve my password, so I never posted with that name. You can still see the name in the memberlist, frozen in time for all to see. After Bjorn made a Rants and Raves forum, I asked if I could help out and moderate, since I was around so much. He said yes, and the rest is history.
-
When Jumpman returned from his banning he earned a lot a respect from me. A change of attitude does make a difference. And AlteredBeast, what are you insiniuating here? Purple is not designated for gays only. It goes for wrestlers too ;)

The honest truth on how I got here: I used to be a member of the now-defunct Blast City message board. One of the member there made a post about how crappy PSX2Central was and a lot of the people who posted here were idiots and he posted several links pointing out the stupidity of several member here. I followed the links and found my here and decided to sign up for the heck of it, since at the time I was only signed up at Blast City and was kinda getting bored of posting at the same old place. I posted here a few times until the the PS2 came out, then I left for a while because I had no intentions of getting a PS2 so I had nothing to talk about really. I still drop by from time to time, though.

Kane...what was your name at BC?

I came here for the first time in Nov/1999 i think.
I was searching for news at GameFan( what a good site :(), when i saw a banner of Psx2Central. At that time i was enjoying my DC and i thought about the PS2 like something far away in the horizon but, after i checked all the news, i clicked the banner.
For the first time, the main page of Psx2Central appeared in my monitor. I already knew most of the things about the PS2 and i had seen all the tech demos( i remember that i was very impressed with them), so i didn\'t find anything really new. I just liked the design and i thought it could be a good site to get news about the new system.
I also checked the forums, but i thought i could wait to register \'til the system was launched in my country.
After that?.
The months passed, i still was a "lurker" in the forums( i loved them though), there was a lot of movement, some hilarious Fanboys came in to tell us the "truth"( most of them left the site or just were banned by SoulGrind :D), appeared a lot of pics and info about new games, some members were converted to mods( i still remember the thread where a surprised ddaryl was congratulated for being the new mod), others left the boards, there was the transition between uBB and vB, the forums were down 2 times, you could see the word jaggies on every thread, and so on.
Then, the last November, i did one of my usual visits to the site.
That day was my birthday, so i was kinda happy. I entered the forums, and checked the threads as usual, but i saw something strange: one of the titles of the threads was written in Spanish(¿?¿?¿?).
I automatically clicked on it. There was a Spanish guy called Adan( ;)) that wanted to make some type of latin thread, where every Spanish could talk about videogames and the PS2 in their own language. He got a good number of replies, but only 1 was in Spanish, so i thought that his idea would just die. I read his post again and i noticed that he really wanted to make that latin thread. The PS2 wasn\'t still launched in my country, but i thought that it could be a good moment to join the boards and, well, i did it.
As you can see, the thread is still in the main page :).
The first days after i registered, i posted a lot( nothing compared to Unknown, Syxxkorn or Darth Joyda, but a lot for me), and since then i posted normally.
Mainly, I\'ve been on my own, as always.
PS: enough for you 182ways?

Si.
Here\'s my forum history, for anyone who\'s interested. Please note that I\'m not going to bother referring to specific dates, because I suck at remembering dates. Anyway...
I began by searching the \'net for PS2 sites. After I heard the system was going to be released, I immediately glued myself to my computer and looked for as much information about it as I could find. The first site that I wandered upon that interested me went by the name of "PS2 NOW." I discovered that this site had Comment pages under every news article, and after reading some of the posts, I decided to register. I quickly went in and flamed all of those who opposed the PS2, and in short time I made a few friends there. It wasn\'t too long before I joined the site\'s forums. Sadly, I didn\'t stay there very long, because around every corner was some lamer who impersonated you and tried to make you look bad. Oh, and the fanboys weren\'t worth my time, either.
The next forum I stumbled upon was AllPSX2. I found it to be a great board. So great, in fact, that I decided to join the staff as a p/review writer. The site did well, but then things got a little dark, and it was closed down. From there, the staff of AllPSX2 went to work at SonyDome, a site which died in a couple days of its birth. During that time, I had joined the ConsoleDome forums, but I was only able to get a few posts to my name before I grew tired of it. After all of that, PS2Lair was born. The first version of the website wasn\'t too spectacular, as there were no forums, but the 2nd version was oustanding. At the "unveiling" of PS2Lair v.2.00, I became an administator for the forums. That lasted a few months, until Madhosts shut down without warning, and \'Lair was lost. It\'s back up now, though, and the forums are being improved upon.
Of course, I can\'t forget PS2Web. I had joined the site\'s forums shortly after joining AllPSX2\'s. I entered the community without much notice, but I quickly rose through the ranks of popularity by remaining a constant poster with a good attitude. When fanboys popped their little heads up, I was always there to smash them back down. After a few months, I had totalled over 1500 posts, and things started to grow slow. It wasn\'t too long after that when I decided I had enough of it, and I left. I still post there every now and then, but only when something interesting happens.
Before leaving \'Web, I checked here at PSX2Central, a forum that was renowned across the \'net for being full of Sony fanboys. I had tried to register several months earlier, but I couldn\'t because I had a hotmail e-mail account. When I tried to register again, I was successful, and so began my journey into this world.
And that\'s the end of my story.

When I first got on the net, I mostly used mIRC and other chat clients but didn\'t really surf the message board scene on the net. After I got QFG5, I joined up to Sierra\'s website and hung out there for about a year. Then last spring, this persistant jackass flamer by the handle of John Fort Meyres (SomeFlyByNightCompany) started trouble with the moderator of the Half-Life forums. Eventually, this ONE little bastard complained enough to get Sierra to fire their HL moderator. Well most of the HL community left with him, as did several moderators from other boards including Perdita and Guque of the QFG board. I was one of the first QFG board members to leave in a mass exodus from the boards. I guess that was just the final nail in the coffin for old Sierra.
After that I drifted around a bit on IRC and other QFG fansites, but the community - and the spirit- was gone. Eventually I found my way over to PSX2.net\'s forums and got in quite a few fights.. expecially with PlaySaturn2. After the fanboys got so out of hand that I couldn\'t take it anymore I put in a search for PS2 + Message Boards and had this site pop up. I registered and have been here ever since.
For a short while, I was over at NintenDose\'s site trying to calm the BS flamewars people like Nplayer would start and made quite a few friends. Even Playsaturn2 and I came to a bit of a truce there. The funny thing is.. I don\'t even really like Nintnedo.. but the people were just cool as hell. Too bad they shut down and I had to leave another community I enjoyed being a part of. RIP NintenDose.

I used to be Red_XIII for a while. I used to be a guest for a few months because I used hotmail as my email.
-
Damn is it wierd seeing all the old members in a thread.
-
Meh.. most of those guys still post here tho. You shouldda dug up some REALLY old post from like early 2000 and checked out all the old members who don\'t post anymore. :(
-
Been around too long to remember in vivid detail. Lets just say i\'ve had my ups and downs. Mainly with mm. :)
I came to the boards 3 to 6 months after they first opened.. Ended up a mod, then admin, then mod, then admin, then normal member today. I\'ve made alot of kewl mods, Bob, Sammy etc. Created offtopic, pc forum etc. Can\'t remember if i made the hints forum. I think that was mm. But all the time through all the crap. It\'s a great board with top notch members. I\'ve seen it through all the changes. UBB, VBB etc. Talk to quite a few people through msn, aim and icq etc. Ah "wipes tear from eye" all good.
-
I\'ve never felt more like a noob than now.
-
Does anyone really wanna know what I have done here???
I don\'t have the time to explain it again, I am taking a shower...
-
Got here because my PS2 broke and I needed help.. That\'s all I can remember. From then on, I just kept coming back.

-
Really don\'t know bjorn offered me a spot and I took it.
-
Who dug out this old thread?
Nevermind, I registered in Jan 2001 and have been coming here ever since. Have always had the same username.
-
I began to look up info after watching the official presentation of PS2 in Japan, around Fall 1999. This webpage appeared in my google search (if i can remember right) and I began to read the forums. My english was very bad in that moment (it is also right now, but little better), so I didn\'t registered till Jan 2000.
Since that day, I\'ve been surfing the forums daily, except the days i\'ve been out the last year.
That\'s my history.
-
Sony, I had a few old threads saved on my old PC\'s HDD. Showed people around here a few of them I believe.
Go the brown colors! :D
-
I joined this place pretty much as soon as I got a PS2
-
I was excited about the general PS2 hype and started searching whatever was PS2 related.Found PSX2central among the other sites I found and it became my favourite PS2 site.
I begun visiting and posting in the comments some months before PS2 got released in japan.Continued to visit it everyday.
Then some months before summer 2000 I decided to give a visit to the forums.
Kept reading the threads and posts.Until one day in summer 2000 I told my self to give it a try and start posting too.Seeing u guys and the threads to disguss in I just couldnt sit and do nothing.
Actually it was u guys that made the forums interesting and put me to the unavoidable temptation to join them.:)
-
ajoh432 told me about this site so I guess I heard it from him.

It really is. Especially Jumpman, what a great guy eh?
-
I think he\'s an asshole.
-
You\'re just jealous because he got more attention than you. :p

I joined this place in July 2001. It\'s been a fun ride. I was actually hesitant on my first post but got easier with every post. I\'ve met some kickass friends here, been a few arguements. I got some members here that I call friends. Some don\'t post here anymore, others are regulars. I talk to them on AIM on and off. I remember being part of the Spaminators. That was pretty fun. Fishpie and Vapor and their Southern Alliance (Vapor) and the Spamming Syndicate (Fishpie) and how we had a small spam war which pissed Souly and other admins off. I remember making 1400 posts and getting my avy. Then changed it all the time then switched back to the origional one again. It\'s been a wild ride.
-
Southern Alliance sucked.
-
i have no clue when i came here.....
all i know is that ive been starting flame wars and such....but other than that ive found lots of useful info here.

Go the brown colors! - Bobby
Christ, I think I have some of them too actually. Back when BigBadNextGenner was collecting all our Email addys and signing us up for gay & beasty porn and other spam. I followed thru on my promise too... haven\'t gotten a reply back from the authorities yet other than to let me know it\'s "being processed". = /
Anyhow.. the brown colors phucking ruled. We should go back to them.
Oh, and D-Day.. I remember Jumpy.. he was a total prick from what I remember. Thank god he\'s gone, or I would have banned him myself - the little arrogant nirvana loving shyt. Even Mouliton, Steeeeeeeve, and SegaKid weren\'t as bad as him. Good Riddance.
-
Bah, Jumpman was the greatest. If he were here then I bet he would make you look silly, somehow(seriously, unban him if you have the power)... And funny, I don\'t ever recall Jumpman listening to Nirvana back in the day when he was here...Been doing cocaine again?
And yeah, Nirvana>the world

Sony, the thread I used to show peopel the most had Ddaryl at 300 posts, I was at about 40, and it was about the VRAM restrictions of the PS2.
Probably the other thread I showed the most was ReverendXBox giving his weekly \'sermon\' on how the Indreama was going to destroy the PS2.
:)
Good times.
-
I browsed the forums about a year before PS2 was launched...
This is my second board name here....hehehe....
-
Anyone remember Trintius?
-
I was a regular over at segaweb...now gamerweb. All I played was Dreamcast so I was at a forum all about the DC.
Well, you can blame my migratition over here on a PSX2Central member who signed up at segaweb a started bashing Dreamcast. He made the mistake of saying what forum he came from...so a whole bunch of us signed up over here and started a bunch of crap. Everyone seemed to leave after a few weeks, but I stuck around.
I was only slightly interested in PS2, but stayed more on the reason of the constant and rampant fanboyism that bashed the DC day in and day out.
I remember the old days of Jumpman and arguing with Ddaryl every chance I got. Eventually I became a regular based on Sega\'s decision to kill off DC, Segaweb crumbled shortly thereafter and hasn\'t been the same since.
Since, I have had some great debates and eventually got modded. I still enjoy the forums, but have also branched out to other sites.
Gamerweb, TeamXbox, Conceptics, and Gametrigger.net are my other usuals.

Wow, this thread is old. I won\'t even bother making paragraphs.
Year 2000
- I found these forums by word of mouth.
- No one was making fun of n00bs yet, so my first day was easy.
- Posted a lot. I started to develop opinions of most people.
- I didn\'t like RedXIII, SyxxKorn, and Jumpman. I don\'t remember why.
- Posted some more then left.
Year 2001
- I stayed in the Main forum even though OT was created.
- I started to get bored so I went to OT.
- I posted alot then disappeared for a long time.
Year 2002
- I came back and realized the forums were not as good as it used to be.
- I stayed anyway and found out that the n00bs that I heard about a year ago were now respected memebers.
- Old people came back.
- Forums are good.
The end.

LMAO, and it still is.
Blame Adan ;)
I thought these threads were deleted or something.
Umm, well, it has passed almost three years and I\'m still here, which is strange for me, and in that time I\'ve become the biggest lurker in Psx2Central. What can I say, this place feels like home :)
