Is that real or is it FAKE???
It would be sweet to surf the web with PS2 via VGA cable to monitor :)
And Ive read that the new games will support Monitor so you can play at high RES!

Yes well I dont want to wait 1 min 50 secs for my frickin PC to reboot.
Now I just need to wait 10 secs, then Im out on the web.
I only use my PC for web, and schoolwork.
Now I can use PS2 for web :)
Are you sure its korean? Cuz I got a japanese freind. :)
If it were in japanese he could translate.

I want all this stuff now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give to papa, give to papa.

Bossieman: Det verkar som om man ska kunna programera EE och GS :)
Vore kul att testa!
VILL HA DETTA PAKETET NU!
*trans*
Bossieman: It seems you can program EE and GC with Linux.
Would be fun to TRY!
I want this KIT now!

Sweet. Monitor and linux support. Just something I\'ve been waiting for to happen!
-
Nice stuff!! I just want the VGA box. I wonder how much is it? :D
-
You can already buy a PS2 VGA box.
Link to PS2 VGA adapter (http://www.upstategames.com/ps2vga.html)
There was a thread about it at Anandtech (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=411910)

nO-One: Im a busy man! I dont have time to wait 2 minutes for my computer to boot.
It would be nice to have a console that boots in 8-10 secs. Then Im out on the net SURFING!
I find that more suteble. And hopefully Linux will be more stable then Win*ding*dows.
OPS! I got a bluescreen ;)
Now PS2 can take over one more thing I used to use my PC for.
PS2:
Gaming
Internet
DVD
PC:
School work (that I dont want PS2 to do)

What does an ethernet adapter do?
(yeah, I know Im stupid, I just never ask)
-
Vivi: You can connect your DSL, Cable modem to the enthernet adaptor :)
So you can suft the web with broadband instead of lame 56.6 like me :D
-
i\'ll stick with my computer... unless i can get all of that stuff for like $20 i really don\'t care much about it.
-
Well I for one will stick to my PC,because I love my PC.And it\'s never off,so I don\'t have to worry about boot times :D
-
That\'s the japanese Dev kit, now, isn\'t it? The japanese 1000 unit linux dev kit release DOESN\'T allow you to use current software, though it\'s net ready. Wait untill a larger production comes our way (though that does look pretty cool).

Well your lucky I guess :D
I have a P2 400mhz 128MBRAM and my computer boots in 1 min 40+ secs.
And I bet PS2 would be good on the net, if connected to a monitor.
WOLA! Now I only need to wait 10 secs :)

Thing is with all this boot time thing, does one or two minutes really hurt your day sooooo much? To be honest, I think the boot time to launch the ps2 software etc to get it ready for connection will be much longer than 10 sec etc. I love my pc. always will be using it!!!
-
You\'re so busy you can\'t wait two minutes for your PC to boot, but you can reply to this topic 5 times? Sounds like you have some time management issues. I\'m impressed that your ps2 take only 8-10 seconds to boot up and get to a game, that\'s way faster than mine.
If your logic continues, then you have a seperate DVD player to watch movies, because they don\'t have to boot up at all, and the PS2 does, and that wastes valuable time.
-
According to translations of the article the VGA cable only works with the Linux software because it is written to display in the higher resolutions.
The article also says that the harddrive that comes with this kit is not the same as the "consumer" HDD that will be released with use for games and such, and they do not guarantee that this harddrive will be compatible with those future games that use the harddrive and ethernet connection.
Basically it\'s a Linux kit for the PS2 that will allow garage development, kinda like Net Yaroze did. The kit includes manuals for the EE, the GS, the two vector units, and it also includes three graphics libraries I believe and a bunch of other stuff for those of us that would love to play around with the thing.

Exactly. What the hell are you talking about faston? Your reasoning sounds really, really.... dumb. Sorry, that\'s just the way I see it.

Well soory!
What would you rather choose?
A console that reboots in 10 secs. (Im not talking games here Aaron)
Or a PC that takes over 1 minute to boot up windows?
Hmm.
I would go for the console! IF its internet friendly :)
And my PC has a bad habit of freezing all the time :(
Damn, I really need a new PC!

Now its 20:45. I got nothing else to do!
So why not spend some time here on the forums?
The thing is I HATE TO WAIT when I really dont have to.
