Yeah its always been that release date!!!!!

I wonder why Europe games take so long?  It must suck to wait that long after Japan and USA gets the game. :D

I guess it is the NTSC to PAL thing.

yeah it sucks but ill just get a us version heh heh

is it true the us get it first if so is there a link  to proove it

That is so ****,another reason for me to buy an american ps2,this really is getting stupid now.
ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS:WHY SHOULD WE WAIT ANY LONGER,IS OUR MONEY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

I dont have a link but I have seen numerous links saying so, there doing this because the U.S. version sold way more copies than the japan version

Seriously: What is the reason why Europe gets the games long after the US? Do companies want to see how the game fares here first? Heh..

Heh, you got to be joking. ;) We are from europe after all. Sony and the games industry don\'t like us.

Never mind sony not liking us.  It has always been the same with these release dates ever since the Nes and Master System were battling it out!  I\'m really gutted with that news!  I always thought that the game was coming out around summer time or at least around oct/nov at the latest!

Well aminst other things it\'s the translation, Speech needs to be re-sampled along with text translations.
I take it that MGS2 will have a lot of both so this takes time. I hope SCEE will include a 60hz option as i\'m currently
playing Sky Odesey in 60hz mode and it seems to get rid of a lot of the \'jaggies\' Oh btw its great fun!

Well if you guys remember our money seemed much better to sony than dollars, thats why we paid £93 more than people who bought the console in the US.

Its was released in the States for $299 (£206)
It was released in the UK for £299 ($433)  

Any know why sony had to fleece us for the machine and not the us punters

I\'ve said this before, we would all get games at the same time if there was none of this NTSC/PAL crap. Why when they were making televisions didnt they just make one format for the whole world. Its just ridiculous.....

I guess they\'ve just started to make TVs that can handle PAL/NTSC signals.
Like my 100Hz TV.

yeah but how comes you can play imported games on a normal t.v, e.g a chipped ps1 could play american/jap games on it, even though you need a scart to play in colour, it proves its nothing to do with the t.v sets as ive got a video that can play ntsc vids just as well as english ones

You guys seem to forget that for the european elease of games they have to translate the games into atleast 5 diferent languages. This compbined with NTSC to PAL conversion is why it takes so long.

NTSC/PAL conversion takes NO TIME. This is NOT the reason for any delays over a few weeks. The 5 language thing on the otherhand would add months to a conversion potentially.

Hell, we PAL people sometimes don`t even get games. We didn`t get FF Tactics, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, FF Anthology, and a poopload more that I can`t think of right now.

PAL publishers most of time wait and see how well a game sells in the US before considering releasing it in Europe/Australia. Only the REALLY popular stuff like Tiggers Honey Hunt and The Emperors New Groove get a release over here. Hell we only got Amored Core 2 a few weeks ago.

PAL rocks!

that kinda sux to be you all! I live in USA...... But I\'m kinda glad they\'re bringin MGS2 to US first..... makes me happy! :D
