...Play imported games from Japan on an American PS2? I\'m wanting to get All Star Pro Wrestling that is imported out of Japan... Will I be able to play it on my PS2 if I live in America?
-
No you can not play Japanese games on an American PS2. Your best bet is to try and import a Japanese PS2.
-
Hey Gohan would it work if you got a japanese mod chip? Just curious?
-
A mod chip is a possibility but there are no reliable mod chips available for the PS2 as of yet. I just got a modded DC and I have so many incredible imports it is not even funny.
BTW, Mod chips are not a very good conversation topic in this forum. Some of the powers that be do allow talk of mod chips for game imports but any mention of piracy could put you on someone\'s sh!tlist(not a good list to be on). Why? Because piracy is very lame and not something that we want to associate ourselves with.
Just a little heads up for future referance.

The only modchips for US/European systems don\'t play imports, only illegal copies. I think thats a good enouh reason for mod talk to be banned....

What are you talking about? The mod chip for my US Dreamcast plays imported DC games. I have never and will never by a pirated game. I personally have turned in about three people for pirating games. I know it is not cool to snitch but I am not going to let some dork phuck up my favorite hobby by selling "bootleg" games.

Modchips aren“t = Piracy

Sorry, I meant PS2 chips, not mod chips in general. And since this is a PS2 board, I assumed everyone would know what I meant....

My bad. You are correct that is why I said there are no reliable mod chips for the PS2.
Sorry about the mix up. (https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fstu.aii.edu%2F%7Ejkw411%2Fimages%2Fembarassedlaugh.gif&hash=98a647aa5852fcecc23b8ca977c77ab0c843e79b)

Me personally, I don\'t like mod chips or piracy. I was just curious.
