To me, the entity was a disappointment. Bad movie, and not scary IMO.

Excorsist - true horror classic, truly recommended
Halloween - you all know it :)
Braindead

There\'s some recommendations to you, DarkchimP - have a nice weekend ;)

The Entity is totally awesome.  I found it very scary, right up there with the best.  The music cues and editing are top notch.  I guess it\'s like anything else, no accounting for taste (or sense of scariness).  I must admit that the ending is a little dumb and Ron Silver is extremely annoying in that picture.

Get the Exorsist.
Also, get Army of Darkness so you can take a break from the horror with a comedy/gore/horror flick.
Poltergeist (sp?) is a great one.
Last but not least, get IT

Have fun this weekend.

Anybody who said Exorcist, your right that is a classic! Now that\'s a horror movie! I also like Hellraiser one and two, the sequels after that suck! The evil dead trilogy is also worth seeing. Demon Knight is pretty good too.

yea i agree there are no real scary films anymore, the only time you get scared is when you are younger and have nightmares, there most scariest films are phycological ones, kinda like re was a horror game, but it may of made you jump but never scared, unlike silent hill, that made me feel uneasy when i played it. the most scariest is when you dont see the baddie/monsters, and i dont mean like the film aliens as you knew what it was anyway, but i saw this film phantoms, id never heard of it, it started off quite scary as people came into the town but there was no one there, then they would hear all noises and find dead bodies, they also had a bit where a door was lokcked from the inside, with no other way in, but there was no one in there, but it ended up being quite crap and the usual jumpy parts and a story line that has been done b4.

I forgot to say earlier
Evasion of the body snatchers is good

It\'s Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but which version are you talking about?

The 1956 version starring Kevin McCarthy was the best, and the 1978 version with Donald Sutherland was good in a different way, but the 1993 version titled Body Snatchers was pure cr@p.  Avoid it.

Of course Halloween is my fav..

Followed by Friday the 13th Series.

Jason X looks like its gonna rock.

But after reading 8 script reviews of Halloween 8 (where Jamie Lee Curtis is only in the movie for 10 minutes, and Michael only kills teenagers doing a internet broadcast from his house) , it looks like a stinker.

They are moving away from the main purpose of Michael - His family Bloodline !!!!!

I\'m glad to hear that someone prefers Kubrick\'s version to that lame 1997 TV movie (the one featuring Steven Weber and Rebecca DeMornay).  Some of my friends who are primarily Steven King fans think the 1997 version is much better "because it\'s more faithful to the book."  GUESS WHAT?  The 1980 version is superior because it was directed by Stanley Kubrick and filmed by John Alcott.  Kubrick\'s version is just scarier, no doubts.

It\'s not Kubrick\'s best though.  See The Killing and Paths of Glory if you haven\'t already.

Bah. I don\'t like the movie because Kubrick directed it. I love it because it\'s The Shining and that was my favorite book of all time:)

And even though I don\'t like the fact that Kubrick seems to intentionally divert course from the book through the entire movie, goddamnit Jack Nicholson is, was, and will always be the only actor who could ever play the role of Jack Torrance. Steven Weber sucks. Rebecca deMornay was much better as Wendy though. The fat kid who played Danny in the miniseries needs to die, Danny Lloyd forever:D

Still in all, the movie was great, the book was ten times better. The Miniseries was faithful, and I liked that aspect, but Kubrick\'s was definitely scarier. Those twin girls in the hallway... *shudder*
