I decided to a couple days ago. Can\'t resist a new Castlevania. :)

I\'m trying to grab a import system right now... I don\'t really fit in those choices.
-
Count me out.
I just realized that all GBA is getting is games that I already played to death on the SNES. Why would a want to play them on a horrible screen? I won\'t be purchasing GBA anymore( and I mean this), NGC is my top priority. If Nintendo makes an adapter which always you to connect your GBA to NGC then play it on your television then I\'ll buy one. But until then, GBA is just a re-released SNES with a lower quality screen.

Whats Alone In the Dark 4, THPS2, Broken Sword, Heart of Darkness, Rayman, Pokemon etc? I don\'t remember those being on SNES... Plus, it\'s a portable, and enhanced, SNES! How can you turn down a portable SNES?

Well, I have THPS2, I hate Rayman, Alone In The Dark has never interested me, and Pokemon isn\'t enough for me to purchase a system.
I\'m just not interested and excited about the GBA anymore. Sure it will have great games but I would rather have more NGC games then to worry about getting GBA games. SNES was easily the best system ever but so far the GBA line-up isn\'t up to my standards (and I have really high standards for games) so far.
Again, I think they should make the GBA play thought NGC. Its an awesome business move. GBA has a ****ty screen but your TV won\'t. This is the only way I will buy a GBA...I hate small screens!
-
I think the portability, and thus the small screen, are the reason it\'s a handheld, and not SNES2... Oh well.... I can afford GC and GBA, so I\'m koo\'.

I\'ve already got a Japanese one, so there\'s no need for me to pick up another one here. I\'ve got Mario and F-Zero, and they\'re pretty cool. I actually haven\'t played it in two weeks, but I\'m sure it will get a lot of use when the US games start coming out.

Jumpman,
Have you played one to be able to determine that the screen is sh!tty?
Aaron,
Relating to Jumpman, how is the screen? :)

The screen is very impressive. It\'s much larger than a GBC, and it is very clear. The colors are easier to see, and there are more of them on screen at once. I didn\'t have high hopes for the screen, but I came away impressed by it.
-
I\'m seriously going to get it - for the reason that it is a portable, enchanted Snes. I don\'t care if I\'ve played Mario Kart to death on Snes, I want to play it to death on GBA too. I loved Snes so much, that the fact that I sold it is reason enough to buy GBA.
Gawd I can\'t wait. Can you give us detailed review of F-Zero Aaron, please? :)

I pre ordered mine, and im not to happy about WHERE i pre-ordered it.
None the less it will be simply amazing to have GBA, and i can\'t wait until i get mine june 13th.

Aaron,
Thanks for the reply. My only concerns were the quality of the screen and music. I\'ve heard how a few of the games sound, and it\'s decent. Kinda old school classic tunes. I guess the music is a notch under snes, but still nice.
Whoever hasn\'t seen the mpg of Tony Hawk 2 (@ DR) check it out, it\'s really nice. And Jumpman, there you go. An opinion from someone who actually has the machine.

Where do you think I got the thought of the screen being ****ty? From thoer people\'s opinions! DR and IGN both said the screen look was a major disapointment and they could only play it on certain angles with a light shinning down. I trust their opinions. I(key word)don\'t want that kind of quality. I expected the GBA to look as good as they did in the screen shots givenby sites and judging from IGN and DR\'s reports they don\'t!
Also, my main reason for not getting one is the games, which don\'t interest me so don\'t think I\'m not gonna get just because of the screen. Peace.

I think the music is about par with the SNES, but you have to use headphones to get it to sound decent. I was a bit baffled that it supports stereo, yet they only put one speaker on it.
F-Zero is a lot like the original, there are the knight, bishop, and King levels, I think those are the three-I don\'t feel like booting it up to check. I was a bit dissapointed with the variety found in the courses. They all are pretty much the same, so far. I haven\'t beaten it yet, so maybe the crazy ones I\'ve yet to reach. The biggest difference is tapping the A button going around turns. As you turn, and hit L or R to turn, you must tap the A button. I didn\'t know this for a while, and I was cursing the game\'s difficulty. Once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. The game is very smooth, and very fast. The cool way that the camera followed you around the track after winning the cup in the SNES game is gone, so winning isn\'t too exciting. When you die, there\'s some really cool sounding music as well. It pans from right to left, it just sounds sweet. If you love F-Zero, I\'d recommend it, but I don\'t think it\'s as good as the original.
-
Ah well that\'s fine Jumpan. I understand if you don\'t care about the games. But don\'t let IGN nor DR discourage you with the screen. To hell with that they think. I don\'t pass judgment till I see it for myself. Not saying they\'re wrong, but everyone has a different opinion.

Thanks for the review Aaron :)
I absolutely love the original F-Zero, so F-Zero Top Velocity is a must-buy for me at the launch. I will also buy Rayman Advance ( GREAT graphics ), Super Mario Advance and Namco Museum ( well, don\'t remember the name exactly, but the game has Ms. Pacman in it, so it is a must buy :) ).
One more question - can you play Game Boy Colour games on GBA?
-
The main problem with Nintendo\'s portables is the fact that they sacrifice light quality for space/batteryroom.
I mean, I own a gamegear and a GBC... the gamegear is 100X better, cause in the brightest day, or darkest night, the brightness knob lets me attain perfect colors. My GBC is only playable with a strong backlight, or with addons that make it much larger than any portable has the right to be.
-
I\'ve already pre-ordered mine.
Some time ago, in one of his sporadic visits, my little bro\' stole my GB to play Pokemon, and since then i don\'t have any working handheld :rpissed:.
Besides i\'m impressed with the overall quality of the system, i need it to play my old Tetris and i prefer portability and battery durability over a retro-iluminated screen( bad experiences with the GG and its 4 hours of battery life).
I also hope i could play some good old school RPGs with it.
PS: Pokemon, pffffttt.

Joyda, you can play GBC games on it. If you hit the top shoulder buttons you can re-size the screen too. This isn\'t too useful, but for certain games like Revenge of the Gator, it looks good. The GBC cartridges are twice as tall as GBA ones,so they stick out about an inch and a half out the back. It looks kind of stupid. The GBA cartridges are very very tiny.
