Title: Shaping up to be one of the most promising looking adventure games for the PS2 ?
Post by: BizioEE on April 28, 2001, 05:26:21 AM
A visual masterpiece this game certainly is, Hergy Gerdy is an incredibly vivid adventure game that will throw gamers into some of the most beautifully created environments to be witnessed. \'Gerdy is right up there with Namco\'s upcoming blockbuster, Klonoa 2: Lunatea\'s Veil. Both games have an incredibly unique level of cell-shading, Klonoa\'s is far more apparent, but \'Gerdy does indeed use cell-shading, even though the environments are complexly polygonal. When you take a look at the actual gameplay screenshots, notice how incredible the lighting source is. In the screenshot with Gerdy taking a running step in a forest area, notice how the environment looks brown-ish because the trees and the grass are all fading out, on what looks to be a Fall season. And the sky is no different, it also looks gloomy, all of this creates a rich atmosphere that makes this game\'s worlds almost come alive...

Right, the gameplay is the most important thing.

Why memory cards, the great gamers don\'t need them. ;)

This game doesn\'t really bother me that much. The name is off putting to say the least.

The graphics seem ok.

I may get it but at this moment in time I can\'t see me bothering.

"All of these games are some of the best adventure games out there, Ape Escape currently being the greatest adventure game to date, even surpassing the classic Super Mario 64." - psxextream

No wonder people are so confused over genre\'s these days. Not even the damned journalists are getting it right!! Mario, Ape Escape, Sypro... those are platformers and Action/Platformers.. not adventures. I don\'t mean to go off on a tangent, but this crap really gets to me. I love adventures like most of you love MGS, FFIX, and Zelda. I mean, how much will this game really have in common (on a gameplay level) with Grim Fendago, The Longest Journey, or even Myst for christ\'s sake.

*sigh*, anyway the game does indeed look promising. I think the concept is interesting but, IMO, it\'ll take some special talent to make it work right and be fun to play. The graphics are nice too, but I\'d rather see more focus going to gameplay. Hopefully we\'ll get the best of both worlds.

Former Disney ppl worked on this, but of course
you can tell.
They actually had to tone down the Disney like
style. Maybe better. I hate Disney :rpissed: ( except for
their products from the 50\'s ! )
The game should be good though.

Well lets just wait for Jumpman to compare graphics for Zelda or something like that :D jk

I think it looks cool, but Im worried if its gonna be a kiddy fairy tale with no weapons or anything.
