Capcom finally brings a 2D fighter to the PS2 and it\'s a port of a Super Nintendo game?
Just in case you didn\'t know ssf2x is a port of street fighter super turbo(which came out on dc with online play). But the breath of fire collection sounds cool.

sorry but im not impressed by street fighter games anymore, there was a time when these were the best, but since playing games like tekken having players that can do 5-6 moves is very boring. But the online play sounds cool. i think its time they let sf die, and invent a new game that can compete with the tekkens and coul calibres of now adays

I agree it wouldn\'t hurt capcom to come up with a new fighting series. I\'m just trying to figure out the point of even relaseing this game?

I agree completly. Street Fighter will always remain a classic, but that is all, comparing it to the likes of Tekken it is simply rubbish.
Prehaps Capcom should work on the 3d series a bit more and get more moves and depth to the characters they already have.

people who don\'t like SF games or dont understand how truly deep they are, even with the "5 or 6 moves eachcharactrer has" doesnt play SF3:3, doesnt realize that it is truly a masterpiece, and is afraid to play a new game with such crappy graphics!

I\'ll avoid preaching the obvious--that Street Fighter is the single deepest and amazing fighting game ever.
As for the comment Capcom should make another fighting game franchise / series. Well, they have!
Star Gladitor / Plasma Sword
Rival Schools / Project Justice
Both are fun series also, but they can\'t compare the super-deep gameplay provided by the Street Fighter games (not including the EX series by Akira Co. ) .
Sure, each Tekken character has like 50 zillion moves, compared to the 5-6 moves per Street Fighter character, but that doesn\'t matter. In Street Fighter it is more like chess and a mind game, where as games like Tekken is about remembering how to \'dial a combo\'. Big difference. Not to mention those GODLY 2D animations Capcom does.
Still, this is rather sad news. I was really hopin\' Capcom would announce a new Street Fighter for the PS2, as it really needs one--once again, not including the EX game.

Altered and L-I-C pretty much covered everything. Anyone who thinks the 2d fighters that come out of Capcom\'s camp are crap is not a true fighter fan. The only 3d fighter to come even remotely close the complexity and depth of the 2d fighters is Virtua Fighter and even that is a stretch.
BTW, Rival schools is one of my all time favorite 3d fighters and I hope they send the new one to the US. I played the import and it is sofa king sweet,.

Actually I sort of see what your saying. Its just that in this day and age Street Fighter is becoming dated. There already is a load of Street Fighters, my favorite being Street Fighter Alpha 2.
