Is your JAP PS2 modded with that crappy little swap mod?

I bought mine with it in, and have never used it.

From what I have heard, GT3 supposedly wont work on a modded JAP PS2.

But mine is only that crappy 8 wire thing, when the system was first released.

Do you know how to remove it, or just, turn it off?

I was tolled that inserting a JAP movie DVD into the system turns the chip off for ONE boot up.

This true?

naw mine is straight japanese..i seen some ps2 modded with a chip,,but i would not trust it.

Do you have any friends with GT3 and a modded PS2?

I just want to see if this info about it not working is true, cause otherwise I will need to crack the PS2 and remove the chip! Not somthing I know how to do...

sorry we all have japanese playstation,,,damn i hope if you take the chip out,,you dont ruin your ps2.

That is my BIG problem, I dont know how to remove it. I have heard it is easy, but you know, I am not a pirate expert.

maybe if you just snip the wire that are connecting the chip it should work. but i dont know,,,i would just take off the chip and leave the wires,,cause you might snip the wrong wire and KABOOOM!!! you got a  7lb paper weight

just cut the wires I think (carefully)

PM \'METALGEAR007\' - he has a modded PAL PS2 - sure it\'s pal, but he should have some info about removing the chip. mm may remove this thread and you\'re best inquiring about this through PMs.

no I have not mod chip fitted inside my ps2
I have a given up my hope for a good ps2 modchip anytime soon. I\'m moving to europe so I decided yo buy a PAL ps2.

Just buy a new ps2...

At least we get to play GT3 early ! :D
