I just thought of this not too long ago: For the next several months, up until the release of the Xbox or Gamecube, the Playstation 2 will be the only truly active console. The PSX and N64 are on their final breaths, and the dying Dreamcast will have some great games coming out, but they will number few and far between. So, for the next 6 months or so, it\'s all about the PS2 baby! :)
The point of this topic? I dunno, really. But did anyone else realize that the PS2 is going to be "alone" in the console scene for quite a while now? I\'m curious as to how the developers (and more importantly: Sony) will respond to this.

CHA CHING!

That will be interesting to see. Where I work (department store), we sell a couple PS2 games, but haven\'t gotten a system yet... ever. Anyway, I watched a woman come in and buy an N64 today. It\'ll be interesting to see how many parents go for the "best deal" and how that affects the sales charts...
The holiday season will be where the real CHA CHINGing happens, though... competition or not.

Yeah this will happen, but I don\'t think Dreamcast will die yet. Dreamcast has lots of good games. I still like that system. :D

When I decided to buy a new system at the end of last year, my only realistic choices were PS2 or Dreamcast - why buy a PS1, now obsolote, and my PS2 plays it\'s games? N64 - have had one for years, it\'s old news. Wait for an Xbox or GC? I don\'t think so. Sony is going to capitalize big time by having a virtual monopoly on the next gen consoles until Xmas.
