Title: DVD Probs with the PS2
Post by: prosloth on April 30, 2001, 08:04:48 PM
I dont know if it`s a wide spread epidemic, factory recal, or maybe just mine, but the brightness of the DVD picture fades in and out constantly and for the first five minutes there are these digital lines that  just wont go away. I know it`s not the DVD`s I bought, so what is it? Oh, and the either the fan or the disc spinner motor thing goes in to overdrive all the time now. It`s kinda freaky. Even when theres nothing in it, and it wont stop either. It nearly vibrated off my entertainment center. I love PS, dont get me wrong, and when my PS2 does what it`s supposed to I love it too, but I need an excorcist or something. Any info?

Just when you play DVD movies?  Sounds like you\'re running your video out cable through your VCR.  Make sure your PS2\'s video output is going straight to the TV...

i had something a bit like this, i was watching blair witch project and when you see it through the black and white the screen goes from grey to white to slightly yellow, is this what is meant to happen in the film???? But when i watched american history x the parts in black and white ( the flashbacks) didnt change colour like the blair witch did

This is a DVD protection called Macrovision...
It makes sure, that you can´t copy DVD to VHS !

DON´T PLUG YOUR PS2 INTO YOUR VCR !!!!!
(Even the manual says so...)

That should solve your problem !
