Can someone please tell me what the diagnostics mode for the ps2 does and how does one look at the results?

I think it is to sort out the DVD player,i heard it helps the lip sync problem,i dont think you can view any results.

how do you put it on ? i looked for it and did not find it in the PS2 options !

well all you have to do is let the PS2 start up wth out a disk inside so the screeen that says browser and configuration pops up, then press triangle and the system info should pop up, go to where is says console and press triangle, the screen will change and ask if you want diagnostics on, thats all you gotta do, and it works like the PS1 settings, once you turn off the PS2 it goes back 2 off, all diagnostics does is fix the audio problem, and other minor glitches.

in other words you put it on when you watch a movie ?

In my experience it didn\'t help anything.  Except for one DVD which wasn\'t recognized by my PS2.  Turn on the diagnostics then go to browser with the DVD in the drive.
