Title: Akira coming to PS2

Famous manga Akira is currently under development for PS2 (and PS2 ONLY !), by the young
AIA studio (they made Illbleed for DC and PS2).

Akira is supposed to be out in August 2001 for Japan, in the same time as a remastered VHS and
DVD edition of the movie.

Of course we all know how good are the games that come from movies, but this one may be
very exciting, and perhaps we\'ll change our minds about licensed games...

That is definately NOT something to brag about. Illbleed is one of the worst games I have ever played.

Seriously though, got a link?  Screenshots?  Anything?

PS- If you don\'t know what Akira is, run as fast as you can to your local comics-book store and pick up the first two compilations.  They are re-releasing them!

I had all of these comics when they first came out, but my brother took them all to OK with him!!  Damn his oily hide!

And my A-hole stepfather ripped up my Akira #1.  Last time I checked like 5 years ago, it was worth like 30 bucks.  I shelled out 15.  Good thing my mom dumped his ass, just like my dad\'s!!  :D  j/k, but she did drop his ass.

I wonder if they\'ll stick to the movie plot or cartoon plot exactly, or if they just maybe plan to use the akira universe as a framework for an original game... Either way, I\'ll be sure to rent it when it comes out.

I have no link (well, I have one , but it\'s in French, and there\'s nothing that I didnt say in the post), and
no screenshot.

Perhaps it\'s going a game kind of like Galerians on ps1?

mm, I downloaded the NES version for an emulator (SHHH DON\'T TELL NINTENDO!!) but waaaay back when I first started getting EGM, in the back for the advertisement for Chips & Bits, a mail-order game distributor, I noticed a SNES game for Akira.  Have you seen or heard anything about this game?  Do you think it was pulled from the market?
