I\'ll have to admit that FFVII is the game that had me hooked the longest. I think I remember playing from 1pm till 3am (with breaks for food). But no other game has had me hooked like that since (except MGS, but that only took like 5 hours to complete). FFVII rulez, I cried when Aeris got killed (bwah bwah.. joking)
-
same here FF7 hooked me for the longest time
-
Soul Blade. It was the first game I got on my PSX. Me and my brother played it for nearly 2 days straight. Stopping only for meals, toilet breaks.
Every now and then we would have a break but it was just so damn awesome. I still play it now sometimes

to beat Ruby go into the fight with two guys dead so he doesnt suck into the sand one of your good guys, then revive them

On the console it would probably be Final Fantasy VII which Im actually playing through again (10 hours clocked over the last week or two). Outside consoles it has to be either Quake2 or Quake3 - Ive put in an _obscene_ number of hours playing those two games online, sunlight burns :P

-
For me it still is Gran Turismo 2 and Tony Hawk 1 & 2

It\'s probably my favourite game ever. It\'s faster than tekken. Not as much moves but I like it better.
It\'s a bit old now. The sequel on Dreamcast is supposed to be the best fighter ever but there are rumours of a sequel coming to PS2
-
FFVII
I really think this was really one of the best games ever made.
-
My game that had me hooked was Resident Evil: Nemisis. I probably played that for 6 hours. I still play it here and there but I bet my next one will be Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty.
-
Sonic 1. I played non-stop a entire night and had to skip school the next day \'cause I had gotten no sleep.
-
Final Fantasy 7
no other game has come close...cept maybe Chrono Trigger
-
Hooked lets see.
Probably Super Mario Bros 3. The funny thing was is that I had already played the game at a friends house and loved it. I basically begged my mum to buy it and amazingly she did. She just went into the shop and purchased a game for £40 for me. :)
That game was mint.
It seems that games don\'t hook me the same as they used to. For a modern day game i\'d have to say Resident Evil 2. Got it the day it came out on the PC. Completed it pretty quickly but then did the next character.
-
Hooked?? Gotta be the one and only Phantasy Star II!
I still go back and finish the whole thing every now and then on my old genesis! It\'s just sooooo good! I play through IV too, once in a while, but II was simply the best.... I would have bought a dreamcast for PSO, but I didn\'t have the money, and I probably would have failed all my courses at university.
-
well latley it has 2 be winning 11-5 (iss pro 3) for the psx2 on average 1-2 hours a day if i can and non consol the best game ever championship manager 00/01
-
It was Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo or Syphon Filter for me. And ironically FFVII is the game that I was least hooked on. I bought it, played it for a few hours, and haven\'t touched it since. That was prolly years ago now. :)
-
Streets of Rage II, Quest for Glory, Master of Orion, Golden Axe, Doom, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Phantasy Star 4, Final Fantasy 6 - 8, Space Quest, Medal of Honor, Fantasy Zone II, Shinobi 3 & Shadow Dancer, and a bunch of others I can\'t think of right now. I\'ve had them since they first came out, and I still play them at LEAST once every other month or so.
-
Back in the old days I was pretty hooked on Sonic 1, 2 and 3, mostly because there were no saves (except in 3). And these three games were pretty much all I played.
But a videogame that has had me hooked the most has to be FFVII. I don\'t think it\'s one of the best games, I think it\'s THE best game. In all my years of playing it, not once have I been bored with it. There\'s so much to do, enough challenge. I\'ve been trying to get all my party members to level 99 and limit level 4 and all my materia to master. Which is harder than it sounds. And I\'ve yet to kill Ruby. The monster is Tough! I think I\'ll be playing this game forever.
But for the longest time in one day I played FFVIII, although it\'s not one of my favorites. I don\'t usually play that long, so it was probably three hours or something in a row.
-
I would also have to go with FF7. It took me a total of nine months of pretty constant play to achieve defeating the Ruby Weapon, which was the last objective I had left. I know every tiny secret and know the entire world inch by intimate inch. But this game has a surprising amount of replay value. After I got really good at it, I tried upping the challenge for myself... by playing through the game with NO materia whatsoever. Try that, it adds a whole new level of challenge to the game:) I was able to do it, but the game took me over 110 hours, because I had to level up a lot to survive:D
Xenogears is the best game ever, but FF7 trails by an inch. God, I love Playstation:)
-
This game online must be about the game that i have played the most out of all the others.
but hard to say.
-
Definitely FFVII. I still go back to game to get master level materias for all my characters (I\'m mad, I know). I\'ve literally put hundreds and hundreds of hours of playing time on the game, totalling at something like 500 hours (my latest save has got 74 hours on the timer right now and it\'s my 12th or 13th time going through the game. This time I\'m getting 99 pieces of every single item [where possible] and max out everything and everyone.). That\'s only like a bit over 20 full days. Or, about 62 working days. Or 30 000 minutes. Or a stupidly long period of time spent with a game I love.
The longest single session I\'ve had with a game was with FFVII (I bet you guessed that). 25 hours in a row, with some pauses to get snacks and eat dinner.
I wonder if the first PS2 FF can get me hooked as badly...
-
All time = F197. I was still playing it 3-4 years after release
Now = ISS pro evo. Damn I\'m hooked on it.
-
FF7
FF8
FF9
-
Lemmings - it has had me hooked for, say, 8 years now. You must think that\'s crazy, but the game is absolutely amazing still, and stands the tests of time! I believe many here don\'t know what the game\'s about, so let me tell you a brief explanation.
It\'s a puzzle-game where you control little mindless creatures called Lemmings. They go over series of harder and harder levels, where you\'ll have to save them from traps, blah blah. It\'s quite hard to explain, but the game\'s absolutely stunning still. It\'s one friggin\' hard game, and if you complete it WITHOUT a walktrough guide in a year, you\'re very good. It\'s perfect for all puzzle fans, and it\'s available on playstation [ no wonders, I own it ;) before PS, I owned it on PC ].
To say I STILL haven\'t completed it completely, as the last levels are SO hard they\'ll have you pull your hair out...
time spent: hundreds and hundreds of hours. this is the game I\'ve probably played the most.
Doom and Doom II
These were the games sometime ago. I\'ve been playing Doom-games for about 6 years now. They stand the test of time also, and they STILL are the greatest 3d shoot-em-ups ever. If you didn\'t own Doom back then, you weren\'t cool. Those who were good in doom, we\'re cool, and those who had completed it in ultra-violence -difficulty level, we\'re supercool. Nightmare was just a myth, and never even played - it was too damn hard!
Time spent: approx 100-200 hours minimum. Yes I remember how time flied when I played these masterpieces...
No game has gotten even close to the addiction / spent hours than Lemmings and Doom games. Few close ones would probably be Duke Nukem 3d and then FFVII, but they\'re still far away.
-
I finish every game I brought pretty quickly.
The only game I play twice over was FF8 and MGS.
On PC I was addicted to Diablo 1 & 2 and Quake 3, mainly due to the online play.
-
Resident Evil - At the time this was something new and exciting.I used to take my PSX to one of my friends then we drank beer and smoked some and played that game the whole night from 10 to 6.
-
Gran Turismo 1.
I played this games for weeks. This game was awsome. I played and I played. I got all gold.
I remember that i sat for about a week to get the gold in one of the goldlicence.
-
ff7 here too, played it for about 350 hours and for 14 hours straight,
you just can\'t stop with it once you start, everytime you say to yourself: \'just do this and this and then stop, but everytime you reached your goal, you say to yourself do this too.
-
in psx all FF and in pc Q3Arena
-
Well i just can\'t get enough of Secret of Mana and i am in the process of getting all the Weapon Orbs and maxing out al my characters - i just love this game
but FFVII and Tony Hawk 2 - hold their own at keeping me stuck o my screen but now that i am trying to become a TekkenTag Champion i have been playing it almos every dang day fr a couple of hours each sitting
-
Final Fantasy Tactics
-
The Sims. Had this game since December, and I\'m still playing it! Day after day after day.
Civilization 2. Simply a great game. Played it off and on. Might still be playing it if I can only find my CD. :(
Simcity 3000. I love simulation biulding games. No ending, and when you start somehting new, its new. Not the same beginning. Though even these games can last only so long.
-
I only buy quality games. So every games leaves me hooked.
Shenmue had me play 3 entire days (skipping school once) and otherwise only stopping to sleep once and for eating and eye breaks :)
I still play Street Fighter 3:3 in excess of 15 hours a week.
I logged over 300 hours of PSO before tiring of it (psyched for PSO v.2!!)
Sonic Adventure and Blue Stinger were beaten first night as I rented DC before it was out in America at Hollywood video :)

Any of the Street Fighter games.
Ninja Gaiden
CastleVania: SOTN.

ummm...i should say FFVII .....i finished the game 6 times now and each is 100 hours worth coz it got the best storyline and theres always new things that i discover ..... now im just 3/4 away from finishing it the 7th time :D
-
Darth: http://www.truelights.com - this is a great client to play Doom online with, funny that after all this time it compares comfortably with all the other First Person Shooters of today.

Compaires? Hell, it\'s still one of the best FPS\'s out there. All the upgrades and enhancements have just blown my mind, expecially the Legacy Doom with the OpenGL enhancments. It\'s just unreal. It\'s like the absolute perfect combination of Doom\'s atmosphere and Quake\'s engine.
Heh, and you haven\'t even really PLAYED Doom until you\'ve done it online. :D
-
Maybe you guys will see me on there :) I am downloading it now :)

Definitely FF7, loved that game and still do, quite possibly my favourite game ever. It just has so much replay value. My main file, i\'ve put in about 300 hours or so, on just the one file. Combined with the other files I\'ve played.... I\'ve clocked up a few hours indeed... pity is with my main file I\'ve just done everything, and nothing is a challenge..... I should have saved before ruby and emerald weapon.... cos i beat them both and now there are no more challenging fights..
I actually beat Ruby twice. I beat emerald first, no dramas there. Then went to ruby... fought, and beat him. After receive the obscene amounts of EXP, AP, and Gil, I realised I messed up the materia combination i wanted (I really wanted some materia to grow and forgot to put it in.) So I pressed restart, played again and beat him again. Got him first time but he didn\'t go down without a fight......
Other games that have had me for ages would be the zelda\'s, the mario\'s, and secret of mana.
-
International Karate+ on amiga, that was something.
and Master of Orion...
-
Quake 3 without a doubt.
Its online play, community, and mods kept me in business.

Definately FF7. I played it for like over 10 hours straight non-stop (except food and toilet use..hehe)
here is it:
1) ff7
2) xenogears
3) FF Tactics
4) Catlevania: SOTN
those are the four games that got me hooked and played it for hours nonstop. unfortunately, Castlevania:SOTN, the game was kind of sort for me...
-
Street Fighter II on SNES. I played that game religiously for hours and hours for months and months. The only other game I have played as extensively was EverQuest on the PC. Played it for 2 years almost daily. Finally, its many flaws outweighed its good points and I just gave up.
As for SFII, I NEVER stopped playing. Thank God for emulators for keeping classic gaming alive and well!
-
I can\'t possibly name just one, but I can name one from every console that I\'ve owned.
Frogger (Atari 2600) I was a kid with my first game system and frogger had me mesmerized.
Double Dragon (NES) Oh the memories of spending hour upon hour beating down Abobos and Lindas. Those were the days.
Super Mario All Stars (SNES) Revisiting the 3 classics contained on this cartridge was a wonderful thing.
Metal Gear Solid (PSX) The hours spent with this masterpiece will never be forgotten. I was in my room all evening every day for a week only stopping to eat. I kept a bucket by my TV to pee in. ;)
Everquest (PC) Ack, I don\'t even want to think about the time in my life when I played this. I did nothing with my friends or family(I think I even forgot their names for a while). All I did was sit in my room and play it. If I wasn\'t at work, I was playing Everquest.
Skies of Arcadia (DC) I took my time and spent every day for two weeks glued to the TV. In the end I had put over 60 hours into it.
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy (PS2) Yeah, I know it just came out but I spent all night with it the day I got it and I know my cousin and I will be spend hours playing it.

Sublime says:
but now that i am trying to become a TekkenTag Champion i have been playing it almos every dang day fr a couple of hours each sitting
ahh Sublime wants to be a tekken tag champion. Well, thats another person imust defeat now
Sublime, me and Soulgrind have a bit of an ongoing arguement about who is the better Tekken player (not that we have ever seen eachother play)
i guess this adds you to the list as well as IronFist

You might have to download Zdoom to play online. I still haven\'t gotten Legacy to work right over the net.. nothing wants to recognize it. Try downloading the latest version of Zdoom, a few skins, some of the more popular .wads, and also try getting the csdLauncher. It\'s not as good as Zdaemon, but it\'ll give you more game options.
The problem might also be something as simple as having to hit the launch button, since just double clicking on a server won\'t connect you.
Try http://www.newdoom.com for just about all of your doom needs.
