I thought I read somewhere that my old school fav was coming to PS2 any word?
-
yeah, I heard that too somewhere, it looks like Ninja gaiden will be comming to the PS2 sometime. I just hope that Tecmo can bring that game without loosing its magic because it\'s one of my favorite games of all time!
-
It\'s definitely coming, but it\'s just a matter of when. I hope they show it at E3, PS2 is gonna need to really blow people away and that could help.
-
You know, no game probably sucked more time out of me in my young NES days then Ninja Gaiden (all three!). I was excited to hear Tecmo will be bringin\' it to the PS2, but I would imagine they\'ll make it 3D--therefor totally screwing the game up. :(
If they make a killer 2D version, I\'ll be interested. Until then, I guess I\'ll have to stick with the old versions.

I agree that an awesome 2D version would be the way to go, maybe a 2D half 3D version kinda like ninja turtles in LA or newyork was it where it is side scrolling but you can walk up and down the street
-

There was a Ninja Gaiden for the Genesis like that. It was decent, but nothing like the original...

Ninja Gaiden 4 will be a 3D game that will be released in the U.S. (and possibly Europe) only. It will use the DOA2 engine so it should look pretty slick.
-
Its on the "still iffy" list at sonyweb so I think tecmo is still thinking about it...
-
amazing....this game is still burned into the memories of every gamer...with every platform there has always been a request for an updated ninja gaiden
-
Ehh, never really liked Ninja Gaiden. I was always a Shinobi man. I try and go play it on Lynx and NES and it just doesnt feel like that great of a game to me.

Both games was awesome, but I have to say I logged more hours in on the Ninja Gaiden trilogy, as I still play it. Not sure why, but for some reason that game is embedded into my mind as a "classic". Same with the original Shinobi, but I can\'t say the same for the two sequels (I don\'t count the Saturn game!)...
Either way, if it is goin\' 3D, then it will suck. The last thing we need is another 3D game. Bah. Make it oldschool. MAke it 2D--the way it was meant to be!!

God I love Ninja Gaiden. That was (to me, at least) the game for the NES. I remember playing it for hours upon hours at a time, and loving every minute of it. That fight with that spider monster thing still lingers in my head.
I think it\'s time to bring those memories back through the magic of emulators.
Even though Ninja Gaiden for the PS2 will be going down the path of polygons, I don\'t think anyone should worry about it being a terrible game, nor a disgrace to the series. Keep in mind that Tecmo is still handling it; It\'s not like they\'re selling the rights to some cheap-a$$ company who doesn\'t know how to keep the legacy alive. I for one am looking forward to Hayabusa\'s upcoming adventure. :)

Yeah, I always played Shinobi much more than Ninja Gaiden. (Expecially Shinobi 3 and ShadowDancer). Personally, I think Shinobi would make the transition to 3d much much better than Ninja Gaiden would. When I think of Ninja Gaiden 3D, I think of Eidos\'s Ninja game for the PSX... total crap. Hopefully I\'m wrong. Now a 3d Shinobi game.. that brings to mind a game like MGS where you play the ninja all throughout the title, just adding a little less storyline and a lot more fast paced stealth action. SWEET!
Too bad Sega probably won\'t make it. :(

now that sounds damn inviting. Kinda tenchu-esque with some MGS elements and running on a better game engine.
Ninjas rock.

Well sort of, but more fast paced than Tenchu. I don\'t want Sega to leave out some of the more creative scenarios and trademark moves which lend themselves to speed. Like whole jet-powered surfing level, his ability to climb walls by leaping back and forth, his jump-kick. In the non-action stealth scenes, I\'d like it to resemble MGS\'s pace.. but when things heat up, I want the game to move at a pace just a gear slower than Quake III. If you haven\'t played S3 yet, then do it now. The rom and genesis emulators are everywhere. IMO it\'s a must have game, and you\'ll probably be able to better envision what I am.
