I loved Gauntlet Legends on Dreamcast and I want to pick up Dark Legacy for PS2.

Yes, I picked it up two days ago and let me say that it is the best version of Gauntlet that you could possibly get your hands on. I also have the DC version but this just blows it away. The gameplay has been improved greatly and the graphics are much better than any other version. Lighting effects are excellent and the framerate never drops one bit. The whole setup of the levels is much better and bigger. There are also many unlockable secret characters.
There is something about the gameplay that makes it feel so much better than the DC version but I can\'t seem to put my finger on it. It just seems like you have more control of your character or something.
Also, if you noticed there seemed to be some flaws with the sounds in the DC version. It seemed like sometimes certain sound effects wouldn\'t play or they would cut out. The PS2 version on the other hand has flawless sounds. The sound effects are all crisp and clear and the music really adds to the atmosphere of the game.
The bottom like is that this is THE home version of Gauntlet to own. I highly recommend picking it up. It\'s great fun to play (add 1-3 friends to the mix and it only gets better). Do yourself a favor and check it out.

I\'ll be picking this up this Friday-Saturday when i got my new ps2.

I got it... but since it\'s not my fav. type of game, I guess I can\'t appreciate the differences between this and the DC game. They seemed pretty much the same to me.

the game shipped here to Canada may 3 and i beat everything in it on may 5 which is really sad ( in and out with lots of breaks )
The game has a major glitch or exploit that me and my friend found out
we got to 99 lvls half way through the game and took 30 mins of our time
We beat everything in 11 hrs and 44 mins
Also my friend for the hell of it started an archer and by an hour and a bit using the glitch he went to 99 then he stopped and joined us again when we reached garm
His playtime was one hour and 36 minutes
I am a huge gauntlet fan since the nes version and the game is awesome , but they screwed up the lvling of the characters
