Here are some screen shots of Universal Interactive Studios\' Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, The game is developed by Traveler\'s Tales. There will be around 30 levels including a mixture of side scrolling, forward scrolling, multi-direction levels. Crash\'s sister Coco will have a set of her own moves and styles. I can\'t wait for this title to come. Crash looks better then ever! :D Release in Winter 2001!
Loading 10 screens!! Sorry, but the screens are small!

Those are cool, thanks. It looks like Crash is getting a bit of a face-lift. I hope this game turns out OK (considering that it\'s being developed by a different company).
-
It looks alright. Ruben kept on insulting the new dev party though basically saying they were unoriginal, bitter? or truth?

Hmh. Where is Crash\'s shadow in the top-left pic? The enemy in that pic seems to have a "real" shadow (directly beneath him? oh come on, that\'s so PSOne). And in pic no. 8 Crash\'s got a shadow again. Something funny going on here... and how about that smudge of a shadow under his jeep? Ick.
They look nice nonetheless. This game will sell to the Crash fans, but I have a fear they\'re not coming out with anything too original (I could be wrong, but...). I\'ll rather wait for Herdy Gerdy or Ape Escape 2001 (or whatever it was) :)

too small to tell how good they are

I\'m sick of the Crash series. I think Naughty Dog was smart to sell the rights of this game to another developer because the Crash series is definately getting old.
The pictures do look good though. :)

its not just the crash series getting old, its the whole platform games that are getting old

I second that. The whole platformer genre is going downhill. I can\'t enjoy a platformer anymore.

I think platformers never should\'ve left the second dimension. I\'ve played at least 15 3D platformers, and with the exception of Mario 64 and Crash 2, I hated, HATED every one of them.
-
I\'m with Weltall on this. Platform games should of never went 3D.
I enjoyed Mario64, Crash 2, Rayman 2, Ape Escape and that is it. Personally, I am not impressed with Travellers Tales offering of Crash so far. It looks alittle better--but at the same time, as Hawke pointed out, as quite a few graphical flaws.

Those pics suck. I can hardly tell the difference between those and the better-looking PSX games.
I also agree with everyone else, as I too don\'t think platformers were meant to go 3D. The only notable ones I can think of are Rayman 2 and Ape Escape (I haven\'t played Mario 64, so I can\'t comment on it). If ever there was a downfall to next-generation gaming and its progression, it would be how 2D titles are rapidly getting the axe.

It is hard to tell the graphical improvements in this Crash over the PSX version which actually compliments Naughty Dog quite a bit
as for Platformers going 3D
I have no problems with this as long as the games are fun. All a 3D platformer needs is innovtion. Trying to use 2D gameplay in a 3D world definetly makes the jump to 3D seem backwards
balance
I\'ll wait for some gameplay videos befroe I judge the next Crash. If the gameplay is completely copied from the PSX version then I\'ll probably pass.
