InterAct Accessories, a Recoton Company introduces gaming consumers to the concept of "more for less" with two fully-compatible memory solutions for the Sony PlayStation 2.
InterAct\'s 8 MB Memory Card and 16 MB Mega Memory Card, the first 16 MB option for PS2, come packed with memory expansion software giving gamers MORE capacity for saving their highest scores, hard to reach levels, unbeatable team rosters, and fastest times than any memory cards currently available. In addition, InterAct\'s 8 MB and 16 MB expandable memory cards, $19.99 (MSRP) and $29.99 (MSRP) respectively, will be available for LESS than any memory cards currently available.

good news but will itbe stable ?
i have had a lot of prob\'s with 3td party mem cards for my PSX.
but hey ill still buy it for backing up my save :D
-
a 16mb mem card cheaper then the PS2 8mb? I\'ll give it a try for the sake of hope.
-
yea but what do you really need a 16MB card - i havce 2 mem cards and still haven\'t filled up one much less two - i have like about 20 something games on just one
thats what i like about these mem cards for the PS2
-
If its 8mb, 7.98 roughly or whatever, and im at about 6mb for all of my games. I\'ll probably need a new card soon. Or just get ride of the games i\'ve beaten and wont play agian or something.
-
Yeah i am about half way through my official PS2 mem card and i have a lot of files saved on it for a lot of games, might buy one in a couple of weeks depending of what types of games i get for my nice PS2.
i Find RPG\'s take more space because i usually have 2 save positions to prevent having to start from scratch if i run into a Boss i can\'t get away from with a weak party, this gives me the chance to go back a hour or so and level up my Charaters ;).
oh and also Miss moneypenny is using the same card and even with that we have still got half the space left.

why is it sony makes us buy our own memory cards?
It\'s a pain in the ass :(
(and expensive, too...for a poor bum like me :crap: )
I was happy with my sega saturn that it CAME with memory enough to save games, and you didn\'t really need a memory card unless you wanted 6-7 RPG game saves..
Is there any reason (other than extortion..) that sony makes you buy the memory cards?
-
Memory Cards are better than built in memory like the Saturn. It costs you more, but you can take your memory cards with you anywhere to play on a different Pstation
-
I don\'t trust 3rd partry memory cards after my interact mega memory card died on me. Luckily I just happend to back up everything on my dex drive the day before. What a conincidence.
-
Rule of the thumb: Third party memory cards are unreliable. After having two die on me and lose my saves, I will never own another one. And I am sure there is plenty of other "third party horror stories" on this board.
I am not saying Interact\'s product is bad. That would be foolish and premature, as I have never had the chance to use it. But, for the most part, third party memory cards are more trouble then they are worth.

I went through five different mem cards for my PSone before I found a very good one. Interact\'s PSone mem card was the worst of the whole lot. I formatted it, and I couldn\'t even get it to read/write ONCE! The best one IMO was the one I got, the madcatz 32 in one! It\'s great. Uncompressed memory, I\'ve filled 5 cards (of the 32) and had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS at all! It costs 50 cdn (30 us).
I won\'t be buying any interact products because of that (well, and the fact that my gameshark2 didn\'t work on 3 out of 4 games, the PSone disk it came with didn\'t work on 9 out of 10 games, and the dongle was a poorly made POS). I almost bought the madcatz PS2 mem card (cause it was a cooler "metalic" color, and came with a case), but because it cost the same as sony\'s I went with total reliability.
-
I dunno, I\'ve had two third party memory cards for about three years now and I\'ve never had the slightest problem with \'em. Guess I was just lucky.. expecially considering that I didn\'t pay anything for them. (A friend stole them from the repair center of a video rental place. Nothing I would have done, but I\'m not going to resist a $40 dollar savings either.)

And there is more !!!

PS2 Memorycard Adapter. You can save the 8MB gamedata in the adapter
for exactly 60 seconds meanwhile you can go to the PC with the adapter
and connect it in order to copy the gamedata to PC. Also it has the ability
to edit the gamedata and copy it back to the memorycard.

I\'m just going to stick with my sony memory card. More expensive but more reliable. Never had a problem with a sony one in 5 years of using them

The Saturns built in memory was great. You may have wanted more, but the simple fact was, you could buy a console and take it home, play your games and not have to worry about purchasing a memory card for a while.
As for 3rd Party Memory cards, I don\'t know. I\'ve had two definate 3rd party PS1 memory cards which have worked fine and then I got this Sony memory card from a computer fair, im not sure if it was fake or anything but it caused my PS1 to pause in games like track and field, dino crisies and fifa 2000 where the ps1 seems to be more sensitive to button pressing.
Personally im going to stick with official PS2 memory cards.
