Denise’s Coin Laundry

Although the main title of the Laundromat is slightly destroyed nowadays, the screen capture of the game was obviously taken at a time when the title was actually present as a whole. Otherwise, the sign is perfectly represented with the same font and the building itself is the same drab yellow color it has been for the past 18 or so years.
The World of Pets

Pet World used to be the greatest pet store in all of San Mateo County until raised rent prices and building costs sent them right down the tubes. The building is now a mere third of the size as is pictured in the Silent Hill screenshot, but the logo has remained the same as well as the building design and color.
Newell’s Bar

In my opinion, this is the coup des gra of all the screens. This picture is taken of an old bar on the corner of San Mateo Avenue, which sports a perfect match and building design to the Silent Hill 2 screenshot. The likeness is uncanny both in building design as well as the details on the street showing a decorative light post as well as a few strewn about trash cans.
All this time I didn\'t know it was real! :D
-
that\'s pretty weird but cool at the same time. In a way it\'s really freaky like Silent Hill. I guess Konami went that extra mile to ensure realistic locations.
-
Pstwo, what city is this? Is it actually San Mateo CA, or some other city in the south bay? Sorry, but I never played Silent Hill 1.
-
That would really freak me out if it was my city. A game like Tony Halk or Driver is cool but SILENT HILL!! Nope they could probably make me too scared to go to the grocery store because I died in the game at the grocery store.
-
thats crazy, i wonder how accurate they will make them look.........
-
These pictures were posted here last year by another member. He actually lives in this town and he was freaked.
I can\'t remember who it was tho\'......
-
I think it was Ryu, but my memory could be playing tricks on me. Freaky stuff. :shivers:
-
Yes, it was Ryu. I remember the thread.

Yep, Ryu posted similar pictures a long time ago.
-
Oh man I can\'t wait for this and how it will
show at E3.
I wonder how much progressed on this game and
imo this one is higher on my list than AITD 4.
It would be a bit underwhelming if the realtime
graphics fall short to the movies we\'ve seen on the
internet.

the shots are impressive pstwo... I wonder where we could find the zombie nurses... :D
-
freaky man, i would never be able to go in them incase something bad happend
-
It seems that there is a real Silent hill town. Scary stuff.
-
Silent Hill, yuck, I\'m pretty tough when it comes to horror movies & other scary stuff, but SH was WAY too much for me. It left me feeling so weird, like in a panic... I never, ever, ever wanna play it ever again. I wouldn\'t dream of getting SH2, even if I got it for free.
I think Ryu even said that it\'s his home town.
-
I love horror. Silent Hill was a miracle/dream come true for me (sure RE was good, but it was too old) I bought Silent Hill the day it came out, and played in nonstop to the end with out a guide. But Small Lady, I know that feeling. Especially in the sewers were you can\'t see anything!
-
I\'ll buy it. SH 1 was so great because of the atmosphere (better than RE)
-
I\'ve only beat SH one time should I play it again........ I\'ve sorta forgot the storyline :D
-
First of all, yes, I did make this original thread LONG ago (September to be exact after the Fall TGS) and it made the members quite happy when they saw it.
Second of all, yes, this takes place in a town called San Bruno, just 10 miles South of San Francisco.
Thirdly, I wrote that article you are all referring to because it came from PSera, the site I now work for. Here\'s the original link since PSTwo neglected to post it:
http://www.psera.com/index.cgi?type=Features;action=Display;id=000014
Finally, it\'s amazing that you guys still remember it, but I guess it is pretty neat stuff even today. :)
-
Incredible... I\'m surely going to buy the game.
Gives me the same shivers as Gabriel Knight 3 did - the environment in the game is based on a French village called Rennes-Lè-Chatèaù ( don\'t know if exactly written as so ). Very cool info indeed.
Oh and this is new to me, as I missed the Ruy\'s original thread by a month or so, as I registered later :)
-
I miss that thred too. I register on October 2001. Sorry about that RYU! :D
-
October 2001, wow. :)
-
Yeah...I remember Ryu\'s thread about this. I also remember getting into a fight win him and TheGR81 in that thread...
