According to Square, the 2 disc special edition is nixed in favor for a single disc release. But don\'t worry about missing out on the high quality movies and sound from the 2-disc edition cause Square said that they were able to achieve it on a single disc.
But there would be a second disk coming with the game, which is a bonus disc much like the ones you get with DVD movies. Titled "Other Side of the Final Fantasy", the disc will include developer interviews, storyboards, a Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within trailer, and footage of upcoming Square titles.
No word whether this disk would be release along with the NTSC or PAL version. Everything else is going along as plan.

Well, that is certainly good to hear... I don\'t know how they managed to fit it onto one disk (I hope that it won\'t have problems like GT3), but as long as they give me the highres support, I\'m happy :).

Good news all round really. Square including this second disc will probably be so they can sell more copies of their games but its still cool, I like kind of little extras.

Japanese 1st generation Ps2 had problems reading the GT3 disk cause it is fully packed.
Check out the GT3 forum , the story is there somewhere.

But FFX is coming to Europe after the release of FF: Spirits within, so I hope they\'ll change the bonus CD for the european and american release ;)
Otherwise, it\'s a worthy shot. I still hope that they add some thought to the second cd - so that it won\'t be just a worthless piece of a CD...
