Title: Best First Person Shooter
Post by: TheGeezer on May 15, 2001, 06:30:47 AM
Getting my PS2 in a week and was wondering which was the best out of Quake III, Timesplitters and Unreal.  I mainly play on mi own so which has the best single player modes?

Cheers

IMO the best single player is Unreal, the best multiplayer is Timesplitters.

Also, IMO, if you have a decent computer, get QIII and Unreal for that, they\'re now like 20 bucks (CDN), and you will be able to use them online right away...

yeah i had loadsa fun playing unreal 1 player. ts is also excellent  1 player but can get frustrating, but has a very high replay factor. i actually thought q3 sucked big time, i took it back.

Timesplitters IMO is the best, its FAST, great gameplay, FAST, awsome weapons, FAST did I forget to mention it was fast? I like the single player in TS better than UT or Q3. I\'ve played TS for about 20+ hours now trying to get everything and I havent beaten it on any of the hard boards yet......so there are still more goddies.

If looking for one-player FPS experiences on a Sony console, I\'d have to recommend the old Medal of Honor games (they\'re PSOne game if you didn\'t know). They\'re old, and quite ugly, but nothing beats them when it comes to sheer atmosphere. And they\'re cheap too! Out on Platinum too! Go get yours! Now!

*gets paid by EA to do this*

I thought Unreal sucked on PS2, the Dreamcast version is excellent.  I would have to say Quake 3 Revoulution is the best single player FPS.  I love Timesplitters too, but it\'s an old game now, but you should pick up Timesplliters, and Quake3: Revolution.  I\'ll have to try Unreal for PS2 again.  Maybe I didn\'t spend enough time on it.  It\'s the controls I don\'t care for.

Cheers for that.... think Ill go for Time Splitters then as I can get that quite cheap second hand aswell.  Have to admit I thought single player Quake III on dreamcast sucked, mainly because there was only ever four charcters fighting at any one time!

Looking forward to PS2 Medal Of Honour games BTW
