Looks very good to me espially the model look about cg quaity what do you guys think of this?
-
I know your intentions we\'re cool and alot of us will want to see the video.
BUT from past experience we feel the the PS2 news and other console news is best seperated since someone usually says somethign to piss off someone else and so on.
-
I know thats cool I\'m trying to get the stupid link to work
I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!

nothing special, it\'s a kiddy game anyways
-
No offense intended.... and maybe it might be fun to play, but I think I\'d be ready puke and brush my teeth after 15 minutes if I played this game. Why do so many people like these games with cutsey characters? I\'d much rather play the same game with a human character animated with real motion capture, carrying firearms instead of a cutesy little stick.
-
sorry, the game looks ok better then a lot of PS2 games out now but I still didn\'t think this one looked real hot in an overall package kinda way
-
God you almost spilled my milk here raslant! I thought the video would be from Starfox 3, coming to GameCube as well - and it is one game wich is worth buying GC alone, IMO! I\'m not interested in Starfox adventures, as I DON\'T WANT ANOTHER BANJO-KAZOOIE-KIDDISH-LIKE platformer! I\'m so full of them...
But anyways, this was a disappointment. I mean, the graphics looked really sweet and all that, but the video wasn\'t about the game I expected it to be of...
-
Well, the originally plan for Dinosaur Planet was a lot better to me. I would have prefered to have a separate StarFox and Dinosaur Planet game rather than combining them. I think IGN64 has a preview of how Dinosaur Planet would have been.
-
I know that sucks it looks like a banjo kanzia clone instead of a starfox game......
-
Holy Crap. Take a look at the Hi-Res (http://cubemovies.ign.com/media/news/video/e3movies/starfox_high.mov) version. This game look REALLY good. I was really impressed at the detail in the game. I like platformers so this could be fun. Best looking platformer I have EVER seen. That is until Nintendo\'s press conference starts. :D
-
Question: Why is Nintendo messing with every franchise?
THey made Metriod a FPS (damn them) now STar Fox a platform game? What the hell?
Other then that, it looks excellent.

I agree. Some of you are trippin\'... the ingame graphics are dope as hell. I don\'t see ND\'s Project Y looking better than this.

well the graphics ae good the idea of the game literally sucks - i mean why mess up a good thing and Starfox is a good thing

Its not like they can never make another Starfox game. Its the same as when Naughty Dog made a cart racing game. They are just fleshing out the character.
Nintendo(Actually Rare) went and did something different with one of their franchises. Isn\'t that what you guys wanted them to do? I think it is a cool idea and I look forward to playing it.
-
This doesn\'t really count as "something new". It is still fluffy characters , cheesey storyline (no doubt), platform based . A typical Nintendo / Rare title.
I want an actual Star Fox, none of this crap, damnit.

THIS IS AN ACTUAL STAR FOX GAME!!!!
BTW, What game doesn\'t have a "cheesy" storyline?

Bah! This is not an actual Star Fox game. An actual Star Fox game would play or at least be something like its prequels. None of this scanveger hunt / platform stuff. Bahhhhhh..
Cheesy storyline = animals rescuing the universe and so on. Nintendo said they was goin\' to focus on the older audience, yet they seem to still be set on the younger audience.
It looks great, but I don\'t think it is what people are expecting, same as Metriod being a FPS.
I am not saying the game will suck or I won\'t play it, because I will. But, I would be alot more excited to hear about a new installment in true Star Fox fashion.

The game is for 12 and under
If you argue this your acting foolish
Sorry not very interested in this gamne aeither. But thats par for the course with Nintendo

I really could care less what the target age is, but this isn\'t a good move on Nintendo\'s part for one reason.
They keep saying they understand that they need to put a huge focus on the older audience, yet they aren\'t. Sure, they have announced a *few* mature games, but when compared to the amount of "kiddie games" it looks pretty bad.
Hopefully before E3 is over, Capcom will show us Resident Evil: 0 and Rare show us the sequel to Perfect Dark, because as it is, it looks as the Xbox has made the bigger splash , so far.
By the way, does anyone know if this Star Fox game is suppose to be a launch title or not?

1. Nintendo did not make the Star Fox game.
2. Nintendo knows that they have to reach out to older gamers but that is not going to make them do a 180 and make the next ThrillKill. That is not Nintendo.
BTW, The "real" E3 hasn\'t even started yet. Nintendo was not likely to announce anything major because they knew that Sony\'s conference was right after their own and they could steal some of Nintendo\'s thunder. There is a BIG announcement about a BIG Japanese developer that Nintendo neglected to make. Be on the look ut for this. Rumors suggest that it could be about Square and/or Capcom. I am more inclined to believe Capcom.
Just knowing that the 2 Zelda games made for the GBC were developed by Capcom, makes me VERY suspicious.

First of all, your just assuming that it won\'t be good. I know you would say other wise but that thought is still in your head.
Second, who says they can\'t make this a great game? I saw some ships in that video, maybe there will be some ship levels like in Star Fox 64. Maybe they can make this a totally innovative game. Who knows? Save your judgement till after E3 when some people will get a chance to play it.
Also, you have no clue about what kind of game this is, correct? I doubt you even watched the video because this is obviously not a platform game; it\'s a Zelda clone! ( action adventure ) Anyone who ignores this game just because it\'s kiddy is not a true gamer.
And Nintendo won\'t let Retro release a crappy version of Metroid, I\'m sure of that.
but this isn\'t a good move on Nintendo\'s part for one reason.

That\'s not really a bad move...
Anyone who thinks this is a bad business move is a moron. Star Fox is one of Nintendo\'s best selling franchises. Peopple will buy systems just for this game. Nintendo just wants your money and you can\'t blame them for that.
By the way, does anyone know if this Star Fox game is suppose to be a launch title or not?
Tis a launch title.
As you can see, I\'m excited about this game. Anything that playes like Zelda will get my money.
-
I watched the video, and yes you are right, it is more like Zelda, but still, it is not original. It just seems as Nintendo is messing with every one of their franchises and not announcing anything new. I did not expect Nintendo to do a full 360 degree turn and only do mature games--hell I like those so called "kiddie games". HEll, I never even said this was goin\' to be a bad game. I simply believe that it was a bad mistake, because, with the Star Fox franchise name, there is a certain style of gameplay people expect. The same applies to Metriod.
Nintendo has enough "cutesy" games , they need more mature. I am not saying they should get rid of some franchises either. I personally would love to see a true Star Fox, Mario, Zelda and Metriod game land on the GC sometime in the near future. But, instead , Nintendo goes and messes with Metriod making it a FPS, which may be good, but lets face it, there is NO WAY it can match the classic feel of the earlier Metriods for the obvious reasons. It may be a good game, but it still won\'t be "Metriod". The same applies to Star Fox.
-
I watched the movie, and I was shocked! It didn\'t realize that this game was Dinasour Planet. I thought DP was going to be a more mature game on the NGC, at least that\'s the impression that I got from all the Nintendo fans out there. Oh well, so much for the "Nintendo no longer being kiddie" idea.

I want an ACTUAL Star Fox title as well - meaning the old Snes-like Starfox. I want it to be like it was. Lots of difficulty, great graphics and long lifespan. The N64 version was FAR too easy :)
Free 3d Starfox -spaceflight -game would be also very cool. not the tunnel-like gameplay anymore [ but somehow I love it ;) ]. Still, I wouldn\'t buy the game [ Starfox Adventures ] for the video - I\'ll wait for E3 and Fox McCloud isn\'t reason enough to buy a game.
Starfox 3 really interests me, not this.

hahe.
The simpsons rule.

Of course Nintendo keep their main focus on kids : that\'s their biggest income !
And yeah there will be RE zero and Perfect Dark for NGC, but MGS2 and Silent Hill2 ( Unreal, Evil Dead etc. )won\'t appear on NGC.
Fact is that devs constantly point out that they make games for all consoles but they decide to make a game
for a certain console for the following reason :
The consoles demographics/ the audience.
And for Nintendo that\'s still kids. Devs know that and will
make their serious combat game for example, for PS2 or XBOX and their adventure game with cute characters goes to NGC.
That\' s how it goes and will for a long time.
As for me ? When I still had my N64 and played Diddy Kong Racing, ppl said to me : " OMG grow up dude !! "
Knotter8 :)
