ok here is the info?
Nintendo has officially announced the GameCube release date, and guess what, it is a whopping 3 days before the Xbox\'s own launch day! November 5, in case you haven\'t figured it out, is THE day. An official price has yet to be announced, yet. It looks like the first bomb in thelatest phase of the next gen console wars, has been dropped.
How funny is this,the consoles wars are really going to start,but sony need to drop the price around that time,if they are going to sell more consoles.

If they can hold the dates, it will be great to see the war.

Nintendo want to pee on someones bonne fire and i think they have just found a way to do it.
By launching their console only days before the X box things are going to get nasty between these two companyes.
Don\'t get me wrong i like both systems but who will win on launch day and who will have egg on their faces.
I can\'t remember a situation like this before it will be very intresting.
November will see 2 consoles going toe to toe on launch day..........
that will mean hardend X Box fanboys will meet Hardened GC fanboys in the stores and streets, ha it will end in blood shed i say blood shed..............

Whoa! That is going to break my bank account. Holy crap. I was hoping I\'d have at least a month breather, but two systems within 3 days of each other.
Yikes.
Still, I haven\'t seen anything for the GC that is going to make me buy it. So, if I have to pick one or the other, I guess I\'ll go to the XBox and wait a month or so before I get the GC.

oh yeah sony will drop the price of the ps2 100$ at q3 to 200$.. experts say this is a wise move, and i agree... it will put a ton of pressure on a 300$ x box..

Well this is good news for Sony.
They already have a decent market share having a head start and now its two rivals Nintendo and Microsoft are going head to head. Not many people will be buying both consoles. This could either mean very poor sales for one and good for the other or generally weak sales for both consoles, leaving PS2 on top and my investment safe from being turned into 3do cash. :)

How does that automatically mean that PS2 will be on top at that time? Shouldn\'t their sales descrease too with two brand new consoles launching? Explain!

I have to agree with Jumpman , one again.
Sony\'s price drop is not going to make a big splash if both systems launch durin\' November. The Media and alot of gamers will put the PS2 in the back of their mind for a short amount of time, therefor making PS2 sales decrease. No game Sony announces can take away from the hype of two systems within in one month.
However, both systems launching within such a close period of each other WILL effect the launch of one of the systems. I imagine it will be MS effected, as they don\'t have the brand name of Nintendo, not to mention they will be launching on the 7th, which is after Nintendo\'s launch.
