What Wave Racer as in the Nintendo game ?
it looks alright , in fact if i can remember that game was better in motion on the NN64 than static screenshots.
-
:( I hope so 007.... Splashdown (?) for PS2 looked better... so did Blood Wake on XB. I was expecting more... please let it just be the screenshots....
-
that looks freakin boring...what\'s with the jaggie / interlace lines on the characters, yet elsewhere ok..?
-
I was a little underwhelmed by the pictures, too, but I will be the first to gladly admit that it looks great in motion. With some of the reflective water effects along with the attention to detail (possible with the constricted environments), the game actually looks "real" at times. Not always, by any means, but at times.

Anyone have links to a new video?

The one I watched I got at http://www.nintendojo.com and it was called the Nintendo Difference video. It was shown at N\'s press conference. It features all sorts of games in it besides that one...

No offense, but this looks like crap.
I loved the original WaveRace, so I hope they improve on this massively.

I too enjoyed the original Waverace, and that one looks, well, underwhelming. I hope it gets improved a ton.

Here\'s some hands-on impressions of Wave Race that seem a lot more reassuring. The demo features enhanced Drake Lake and Marine Fortress levels. This is from Planet Gamecube.
There seemed to be some disappointment with the footage shown yesterday at the press conference, (cough Justin) but two seconds in, all doubts are out the window.
Graphically the game is wonderful. The water effects we’re drop dead gorgeous. Aspen Lake had almost all the things Drake Lake did, and more. The posts that stuck out of the water are intact, and still tricky to maneuver through. The reflections off the water will floor you. Drake Lake never looked this delicious.
The Marine Fortress level had rain! The rain drops splashed on the camera and dripped down. It’s an effect that is absolutely excellent! The rest of the level had some of the same short cuts (gate opening after 2nd lap), had sunken boxes and a lot of the same obstacles. But it all looks a lot better.
Overall, I can’t wait to play this title more. They’ve got stations that have 2 and 4 player multiplayer split screens. I haven’t had a chance to play multiplayer, but it looked very clear, and didn’t have any slow down apparent. If you loved the original, the sequel is what you’ve been waiting for. Eat wake baby!
I omitted parts of the article that weren\'t about graphics, so for the rest head on over to PGC.

yea i have to agree with most people this game needs some improving
shame i really thought that GC was gonna shine at E3 and its pulling a gamestock right now - maybe it will pull its stuff together like Xbox did

I had N64 version and the water rocks!! But look at GameCube version of the water, it looks so real!! :D

Still more proof that we need not worry about Wave Race: Blue Storm not looking pretty:
As Time noted a few days back, the water does indeed strike the camera, creating a temporary blur and a far more realistic water effect than any game thus far. The game also exceeds the expectations of the water, as it gently rolls, laps, and ripples with great accuracy, which alter the reflections appropriately in an amazing feat of technology. One can even see the reflections ripple along the mirrored image of the rider, Jet Ski, and course, while still seeing the bottom of the lakes faintly. Even with multiple opponents onscreen, the game runs super smooth and the water effects are every bit as great, as one can see the superposition of the waves as they overlap in the wakes and waves.
