I mean people are saying there not much of a threat to nintendo. Gamecube is going to be it. That there showing at e3 was dispoinnting. I\'m very excited about xbox and gamecube since there new system. But what people fail to realize is that xbox is getting almost every game ps2 is getting and its a more powerful consoles. For example dino crisis 3 on xbox is now exculsive was suppose to be on ps2. But capcom has been working on xbox and loving it from what the programmers are saying.
DOA3 is another example I thought for sure that would be realesed on ps2, but then again xbox got it. What I\'m saying don\'t knock xbox til you try it just like look at sony when they entered the market nintendo underesitmated them and look where sony is today. You get my point, I\'m not saying xbox is going to beat(it may as well) gamecube, but you never know in this industry. One huge factor is that xbox is getting a TON of 3rd party support just like sony when they entered the market. Yes i will get an xbox at launch. Back then who ever thought square would leave nintendo? See what I mean.

So far I would say that XBOX has blown GC out of the water graphically. Some are even saying that the GeForce 3 IS MORE Powerful than GC\'S GPU. so far the xbox graphics beat GC and it only running on a Geforce 3. Man when they get the NV2A just think. I \'ll tell yah i\'d but XBOX even if they only put a Geforce 3 in it. cause as it stands XBOX is the leader in graphics.

I wouldn\'t say X-BOX is getting all the PS2 games, you named a couple (OH MY GOD ITS THE END OF THE WORLD) just because they get some games doesn\'t mean it will be the same as the PS2 but better, wheres the triple A titles like FFX and GT3

the graphics on the X-BOX arent a hell of alot better i
They are and only running on a Geforce 3(phase 2 dev kits) on 50% of XBOX power as stated by our friends over at NVIDIA

at E3 there running with the full power

"about three of those titles are actually good games, and the Onimusha is just a rehatch of the PS2 one."
I think the whole list is pretty good. There alot of games on that list I want.

at E3 there running with the full power
Are you on CRACK!!!!!! Hello wake up MS, and the DEVELOPERS said no games at E3 were on the NV2A.
Heck they just got them and a few are still waiting.

somebody said that they were earlier, theres no reason to get all pissy

THe bottom line is 6 years ago if I told you playstation would win would anyone have believed me? As for the xbox graphics I haven\'t seen anything on gamecube the level of project gothem(yes it runs at 60fps), doa3(nuff said), nfl fever thats just to name a few.
-
yeah project looks no better than GT3, yeah and in some of the pics the car\'s reflection was coming off the road for no reason it was a cobble stone road it wouldnt reflect anything
-

yes there is cause this is like the 10 th time i heard this, a rumor started by Nintendo Fan boys. But sorry if i got angry.

That may be true but it looks better than anything one gamecube. For example wave racer blue storm vs. project gothem I think project gothem has better textures and designs.

i admit i\'ve been cynical of Xbox (alot of people have been as well, like the media themselves),but the console is doing much better now with some of the newer games coming and i too think it blew away the GC for the most part (though RS2 is very nice). i don\'t want to compare PS2\'s showing though here,as i\'m biased towards it...but Xbox definetly has impressed me more while GC (texture monster,i think not!!)was almost a let down
-
To tell the truth,.. I\'m still not sure whether I\'m getting an Xbox or GC, or maybe both.
Honestly, PS2\'s lineup is the most intriguing to me. And as far as GC vs XBOX goes,.. I think X-box looks better from a graphical standpoint. The most important aspect to me is framerate. Luigi\'s mansion looked like it was running @ 30fps (from what I saw on TechTV) .. if it is, then I am truly disappointed. I expect nothing but 60fps out of these all-mighty consoles, PS2 included.

I think thats the biggest letdown is the textures I mean there n64-quaitly what happen to texturazilla?

when i see good games actually playing on the X-BOX I\'ll believe it, when i see graphics that blow away ps2 I\'ll believe it (but that wont ever happen), but dont say the ps2 is going to lose the war because its already got a solid base of customers

Remember Bob, Half of the PS2 dvelopers are small Podunk devs that push out crap like 3D pool and X-Squad, etc. Does X-Box NEED these developers? It seems like many of the high class games along with their developers are turning towards X-Box to port and or prioritize.
BTW, since Tecmo is so psyched bout X-Box, I guess we will see Ninja Gaiden on it and not PS2?

im referring to getting all teh same games. Miscrosoft has only about half the developers as Sony do signed on to make games. And most of these companies arent making anywhere near as many games for Microsoft as they are for Sony, if making any at all.
X-Box is not getting any where near as many games as PS2, id getting. So saying its getting all teh same games practically and then some is a rediculous statement
Heck xbox has alot of developers sign up. They got more 3rd party games than gamecube.

No they haven\'t had time to work with the beta hardware and did not have it at the show. I was there and they had PC hardware still. They are moving out of that right after E3 though.

Nah, I doubt it. Tecmo already said their faith lies with Sony.

I KNOW IT ISNT FINAL HARDWARE THAT IT IS RUNNING ON,but read this so far, from someone at the show.
Day 2 of E3 is over and there simply hasn\'t been a show with so much quality software in so little space.
Sony is standing its ground against PS2 with a great line-up of software. Highlights include the incredible Devil May Cry and the Ghouls and Ghosts extension, Maximo, both from Capcom. Maximo is a 3D adventure that reeks of quality animation and special effects. Other PS2 highlights include the very strong Tony Hawk\'s Pro Skater 3, GT3, Twisted Metal: Black, and Dead to Rights. Excellent stuff.
In the other corner sits Microsoft. The Xbox was set to make a splash at E3 but the software at the booth did not demonstrate what powerful next-generation software was supposed to do. The highly anticipated Halo attracted large crowds but wasn\'t as graphic-intense as its first debut. The Halo multiplayer mode was also on display and was slightly choppy to say the least. Azurik - Rise of Perathia looked fantastic in initial screens but was an embarassment at the show. The title was extremely choppy, paused, and froze at one point. NFL Fever 2002 is also not close to touching NFL 2K2 or Madden 2002. We\'ll have hands-on impressions on Xbox titles tomorrow, but the Xbox debut is quite lackluster.
Another day means its time for another night\'s sleep. See ya\'ll tomorrow.

IMO, The consensus from all the gaming websites seems to be that Nintendo had the most impressive show.
OgodlyThing, Do you think better graphics is going to make it a top seller? The Jaguar had better graphics than all the other consoles released but it was releasing more of the same old same old nothing new. IMO, The only people who have said MS had the best show are people who are not even at E3. Face it MS did not have the impressive show that they needed to have. The games looked impressive of course but they didn\'t impress the people at E3. Don\'t try to justify a lackluster show by touting its graphical prowess. At a time when they had to represent they didn\'t. Sony had there awesome lineup to display and Nintendo showed enough to impress the people at the show.
The battle was just between MS and Nintendo. Sony already has their market share and their huge presence, its just a matter of holding on to it. Nintendo is IMO a better position than MS. Nintendo has their own big show this August to try and blow us away. Is their another show coming up that MS can display FINAL hardware for once?(I am seriously asking, is there?)
BTW, Don\'t get me wrong because I have already put money down on a GCN and an Xbox. I look forward to actually getting my hands on one. I just think that we should not fool ourselves into thinking that MS\' graphics will make it king of the hill.

Yes and how many AAA titles does sony have? GT,FFX,MGS,TTT. You said it not me.

For me personally, the pre-E3 announcements, was all MS. I actually was extremely excited about the announcements, like the price of the Xbox, Dino Crisis 3 and the port of Onimusha. Then, it seemed like Nintendo just started to totally donimate the show with titles like Lugi\'s Mansion, Metriod, Star Fox Adventures (which I still disagree with!), and other announcements. In midst of all the announcements, Nintendo stole any lime-light MS had gathered.
I think I lost my point. Ah, to simplify it. I don\'t think alot of people are under-estimating the Xbox, as much as it is that MS didn\'t have alot of compelling titles or announcements, and then Nintendo came in and stole the show from everyone.
I don\'t think it is looking good for MS right now, for a couple reasons.
- The launch situation. If Nintendo makes the launch of Nov. 5th, with 5-7 franchise titles, MS will be hard pressed to get any media attenion or consumer support.
- Price. Microsoft is launching at a good price, which is $300. We all know you can sell a system at that price. But, if Nintendo launchs at the price they have before, which is $250, it could cause problems for MS. The GC will be out on the market before MS and cheaper. This is going to attract alot of consumers.
- Titles. I won\'t say that Microsoft doesn\'t have compelling titles, because they do. Halo and Munch is a great example of this. But, when you compare the original titles (exclusive) for the Xbox, as to the GC, you see a problem. Nintendo has plenty of franchises to launch with, which is going to be hard for MS to take away from. Imagine this...
Little Johnny see\'s two commerials on T.V. One for Lugi\'s Mansion and one for HALO. Which do you think the parents will buy? Obviously the GameCube.
So, MS does have the older demographic, but it seems Sony may have them covered on that also, with well known franchises like Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X.
MS seems to also be getting alot of ports. While, I am excited about the Onimusha port to the Xbox, I must ask. What is the point? What is this going to do for MS? The PS2 has Onimusha 2 already in development, and they are just getting a port of Onimusha. And now, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is PS2 bound, while MS is getting Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 X.
- Brand name. The simple fact of brand name, means alot. I have seen alot of people dismiss the Xbox, just because of Microsoft\'s brand name. They have alot to prove, before they get the mass consumer to trust in them. Yet, Nintendo really doesn\'t have to prove much. As mentioned earlier, they have franchises and loyal fans, which gurantee them a sell-out on launch day.
