Do you think now that developers have had sometime to play around with the ps2,that they find it easier to work with, because alot of the games at E3 looked really good with the graphics side, and alot of them run at 60 fps with no slow down.
So what do you all think, have they sorted out the troubles with the ps2 now?i think the only trouble i still textures, but they will get around that soon.
p.s **** sorry i thought i was in the console debateing forum,if you want to move it feel free: )

Yes.. I think they like PS2.
Sony gives them support whenever they need.
They are just learning how to work PS2.
I think most good developers like a challange. PS2 sure is one :)
They also say "Now we can do things we only have dreamed about before!"
-
Yes and No
Yes if they are woking on PS2 titles and No if they are ..........
Microsoft and Nintendo only j/k
-
those who can get the PS2 to work the way its was designed to work probably like it. Those who\'s game look kinda shabby and don\'t sell well probably blame the hardware

"Those who\'s game look kinda shabby and don\'t sell well probably blame the hardware"
And we shall Know the evil by their name , for they will be for ever known as 3DO.........

No I don\'t think they like programming for the PS.2.
But they\'re probly excited about the completed product and how it\'ll be reseved by the people.
-
after playing my devil may cry demo i think they have finnaly figured out how 2 properly programme graphically and atmospherically
gone on sony go on son repeat i say repeat
-
i personally think that they are starting to like the PS2, hmmmmm i wonder hwat the developer for oddworld is thinking now??? gee did i make the right decision? NO YOU DIDNT :D, since sony is making hte tools more developer friendly, they shoudl start gettign easier to use, and since sony have seen that they need to help the developers out more with the software questions, they will son feel at home witht he PS2, exept for the lazy developers that just cant grasp the PS2 potential
-
I think the stuff you see in a years time will blow your mind,i think there is alot more to the ps2 then we know about, and for that most of the developers,i mean,to me it looks like the graphics in the new MGS2 movie at E3,have been up dated they looked even better to me,then the demo did.
-
pfft, it was only a few whinging *****es that complained profusely anyway
you dont hear them complaining nowadays, unless they are asked "is it more difficult to develope for than, blah blah?" It was really only Oddworld who came out and openly complained about it
-
Developing for PS2 will get easier and easier bacause Software improves...and developers are learning how to push the Black Beast...and some of the most talented developers of the Planet are falling in Love with PS2(...for example Kojima said that lately!)
-
I think that was stupid of oddworld, because they didnt even give the console a chance,i bet if they had kept developing with the console, they would have been happy, but it doesnt really bother me about oddworld, never liked that game on the ps1,so who give a **** what they think!

We Can also Put the HALO dEvelopers in to the same box (ha ha  )
Have you ever seen the HALO developers on TV ?
theyer all FAT UGLY NERDS
i never though you could get nerds in the FAT form.........

The developers are now probably using streaming. Well thats what I heard. Thats supossed to be the best way to use the PS2. That way you dont nned much Vram.
Correct me if I\'m wrong.
-
I don\'t think thy like it but the PS2 is a very popular console so they must create games for it.
-
Sony are currently offering loads of support in training developers to get the most out of the development kits soooo maybe theyd prefer to program something else, but I think they defo respect Sony and appreciate the support.... so mixed bag but generally good I reckon.
Although I work for Sony, I work in the broadcast side of things so I do get info but unfortunately its limited.
-
The PS2 is not like the Saturn situation nor the N64.
I think the new technical method, the vector units the
streaming texture procedure and stuff, was kinda of a
leap of faith for Sony. Imo they ( Sony ) were a bit to wishfull thinking that devs would like this. It\'s like trying a whole community, in this case the developers industry,
to change their ways/thinking. Ppl like to stick a bit to known things : thus opting for XBOX\'s direct X.
So to conclude I say that Sony made , even though they have such a strong brandname, a bit of risky hardware choice.
Ppl who are against Sony/playstation will argue that PS2 is the new "Saturn", but that\'s not the case.

I think they like the fact of the huge installed user base, which in turns gives them a better profit margin. As for developing games for the PS2, well we all know it\'s a ***** to program for. Developers like to make money and Psx2 is safe bet for now, untill the next gen consoles comes, cause who knows what the future brings.

...for now?...I think...for a long long time...until 2006 :D
...if you think that X-Box will be much easier to develop for you are a Fool !...after reading the latest from Kojima.....

Go back to that thread about what Kojima said, please do that before responding any further.
-
...Well...definitely a LOT more than they used to. And the games coming out now aren\'t crap, so I think the future of PlayStation 2 is very bright.
-
Hey Psx2c Staff NICE AVATAR!!! Did you make that one yourself???
-
All the products we are seeing these days started devolopement before the ps2 was released [ NA ]. Any devolopers that jump of the wagon because of difficulty in Hardware, probably lacked the talent to make a descent game anyways. No loss to me eitehr way.

You said it. A true developer will try to conquer the difficulties.

That\'s your definition? How odd, I thought developers were trying to make a interesting and entertaining product...

Correct me if I am wrong but that\'s from Diablo. Diablo himself.

Nope, you heard it here first. They just want to try and conquer the difficulties of programming with something new. Innovation and quality means nothing.
