I hear those pics are doctored and are NOT real-time.
-
I doubt that these pics haven\'t been touched up in some way. I wish companies would always release movies to go along with these pics.
-
Can you say Real-Time????
you can see the ploygon edges on the tress, the sand islands have polygon edges. Although i must admit they do look touched up, i don\'t know why but it just dosen\'t seen 100% real. Hold on i\'m looking for a link for more info, give me a sec

TheOgodlyThing:
I cannot find anywhere that says they are real-time... do you have a link?
-

Take this pic for example the water here looks sooo real, maybe to real(FMV) but then the floating balls there look to crappy for FMV, i\'m confussed??
Then if you look at the two boats, "if real time" they have good FSAA, yet the two balls in the front i can still see jaggies(they have no FSAA), which makes me think FMV.
-
Well, I cant really find anything on the net for that game except of course Planet Xbox but that dosent say much, I guess were just gonna have to wait and see, I still say FMV though those shots just look too good.

They do don\'t they
-
Well I think everyone (except total Xbox haters) would agree it looks like a awesome game, no doubt about it.
-
i don\'t think they look like fmv (well maybe during 32 bit console days),they actually look like replays to me,i mean look at GT3\'s replays and it shouldn\'t be no surprise that these are replays...if this is fmv, then i not very impressed visually,Namco made better ones on PSX.
-
well as far i can tell
i think they are real timed but possibly touched up in some shots - the water in the thrid pic doesn\'t match up with the water in the other pics
other than that the pics seem pretty possible
well actually now that i look at it the second pic is the only one that the water looks different - maybe bexcuase of its speed - but if its real time that is some awesome water effects
-

As it stands right now, NVIDIA is the King of water effects, the company had been working HARD on it for a long time. This tech was then incorporated into the GeForce 3 family.
-
The pictures are not doctered.... But they\'re not real time either. This is what I dug up at MSXBOX:
Hi Cal,
They were actually taken from the 3D Studio Max pre-rendered movie the team put together for the show. However, the team says that the movie is *very* close to what they will be able to do in real-time as. We would certainly like to implement some online multiplayer options but the only only thing confirmed at this point is that there will be 4 person split-screen multiplayer. We\'ll get more details as the team continues initial development. Hope that answers your questions

Did you see the video that Nvidia released on the water effects possible on the GeForce 3? One word. INCREDIBLE. I was absolutely stunned looking at what they were able to do with the water and it all looked so real.
If these shots are anywhere near what they will be able to accomplish on the Xbox then this game will have some of the best looking water in a game ever. I have to see a video and play it to comment on its physics; but if it is capable of the same effects done on the GeForce 3(Which I think it is) then that should not be a problem.

Lately there have been a lot of bad stuff about the x-box.
The console doesn´t boot up during pressrealease, the supergame "HALO" lags, 18-25 fps. The pictures looks great but the games don´t.
Well, those pictures are realtime but you dont want to know what framerate this game is running at. I guess 3 fps.
Those screenshots looks so good, J&D looks good but J&D is playiable, this game is not, you cant play a game at 3 fps.

These shots are all prerendered.

Don\'t be so negative Bossie.
I hope these are real-time they look kick ass.

Child: Mommy why is that man like that?
Mother: What do you mean honey?
Child: Look at him.
Mother: *looks at Bossieman* Oh my dear God!!
Child: Mommy, is he hurt?
Mother: Yes he is dear, yes he is.
Child: Can we help him?
Mother: No dear, I\'m sorry but when someone gets thier head stuck up thier own rear then they have to stay like that.
Child: *frowns* Can we kick his ass.
Mother: After you finish your vegetables, dear.

LMAO!!!
-
Bossieman - do you like to read or just type without looking, hoping your posts will make sense?
Did you not read above your post? It is a prerendered 3DsMax demo, not the game, there for, no AI or real Physiscs had to be involved. QUit whining about X-Box for no reason, I am geting sick of it.
"gee, i bet it runs at 3fps. hahaha!"
ahhhh, kids.

Well heres what I found on the matter:
"Some controversy had stirred over the Jetsprint MX screenshots we published yesterday in our E3 2001 Coverage. We turned to Funcom for some additional information on where the screenshots came from.
April Jones, Funcom PR Manager, explained, "...the screens were actually taken from the 3D Studio Max pre-rendered movie the team put together for the show. However, the team says that the movie is *very* close to what they will be able to do in real-time."
The title, being developed exclusively for the Xbox video game system, is not due to be completed until summer 2002. With the title early in development, and over a year from release, we are unable to get real-time screens at this time but will bring you the latest when it becomes available."
-
Looks promising. I\'ll wait for video though.

I guess we have to trust them...
Something about the reflection on the underside of the green boat in the last picture does not look right. That looks like what the reflection from relatively still water would look like, not open ocean.
-
Well, the guys who says it looks promising etc., by any means don\'t pay any attention to my post stating it\'s a pre-rendered 3D Studio MAX move... lol
Ok, for the thickheaded people out there:
The movie is pre-rendered.
Thank you, now move along. ;)

The console booted up. It was the A/V guy\'s fault that it didn\'t show up on screen. Not the Xbox\'s. It was pretty obvious too.... They were all looking in the A/V guy\'s general direction. :)

It lags because the PIII is doing all the sound processing. When the game is finished, the PIII wont be bothered with the sound, just AI and physics. And the Xbox wont have to be slowed down by that pesky AGP bus... HALO\'s framerate will be fine by launch. :)
I haven\'t posted here in awhile... Woo.
