A new game: EXO; First shots included
« on: June 02, 2001, 02:38:49 AM »
There is a very promising PlayStation 2 title on the horizon, in the shape of EXO. Particle Systems, known best for Independence War, will be contributing to the action genre in the Summer of 2002.

Set in 2060, a new industrial revolution is changing the world. The science of robotics and AI is creating willing robotic slaves for mankind, resulting in vastly wealthy and powerful corporations. The companies demonstrate their new technology in V-War - televised, techno-violent spectacles, where the competition is intense, the ratings astronomical and the combatants power-suited superstars.

An act of cyber-terrorism plunges the sprawling metropolis of Hong Kong into chaos. Systems are subverted and robotic machines go crazy. The terrorists demand a huge ransom within a 48-hour deadline.

The only hope is the current V-War league champions - Dester-Tanaka\'s very own Tanx, who have been trapped within the city perimeter, and Yolanda Jackson, the smart young NSA cyber crime expert, who detected the original attack.

Features include:

Tactical combat throughout 18 diverse indoor and outdoor locations;
Intense combat against 14 distinct enemy types with multiple variations, each demonstrating advanced artificial intelligence and the ability to learn;
The story unfolds across the whole game with cinematic cut-scenes and through 12 intelligent, individual team members with their own hopes, fears, and motivations
Physics-based character animation and a new photometric graphic engine show unparalleled levels of realism of characters and their surroundings

Check out these rendered shots to show what to look forward to next summer.

The ingame shots like nice but you cant see the backgrounds.
The rendered shots like kinda plain and boring.

A very interesting game. But it will be out 2002 so I cannot have an opinion about this game yet.
