raslant, just post a link. Until you do everything you say is pure speculation. There was no SC2 announcement made at E3 as far as I remember. Just post a link.

If I remember correctly, all E3 held for SC fans was a character render, correct?

True you do have some good points but why didn\'t tekken 1,2,3, TTT appear on any other console beside psx[/i]

At the time, the only viable platform was the PSX.  Namco basically dedicated all their resources to the system.  The Saturn, with its hard-to-program-for architecture and exceedingly high price, was not a dependable platform; and the N64 was on an expensive, and very limited format.  Accepting the exclusive clause from Sony and staying exclusive to the system was the smartest thing Namco could have done at the time.

Number 1 there were on ps1 boards [/b]

Only Tekken 2 was on the PSX board.  The first Tekken was on a preliminary board similar to the PSX (but not quite the same) and Tekken 3/tag was on a more powerful, upgraded board.

That would be stupid since its so easy to port and there going to make a killing off the sales. Instead of porting it over to xbox or gamecube namco could do an easy port to ps2 since its the same board. [/b]

Well thereoretically yes, but you have to take into consideration the caliber of both Tekken 4 and Soul Caliber 2.  Sure it would be a no brainer to port both titles to the PS2, but these are huge franchises and if they were both to be ported on the GC and Xbox, Namco can make good use of the added power those hardwares can provide.  I don\'t think they would mind putting out the extra effort, and funds to create the best incarnations of the games possible considering the importance of both titles.  Remember Namco is up against Sega (VF4) and Tecmo(DOA3) and they currently are working on the weakest board (PS2), and it is possible they might move up a notch to match the graphically prowess of their competitor\'s title.

Another thing, although the games are running on the exact same board and the port would be fairly easy, it does not automatically confirm both titles will be ported over.  For all we know, Microsoft could just buy up the franchises and have Namco leave Sony in the cold.

......all speculations of course

They have namco hometek working on only two xbox games. Which is there american division so its not tekken4 or soul cailbur 2 since there japanese made[/i]

Actually, those two games are the exclusives Namco were talking about.  They already have announced a couple of more games on the Xbox (some online titles).

As for nintendo they haven\'t announced nothing for gamecube yet(if they do it will proalby be mr. driller 2 or something[/b]

Currently, out of all the next generation systems, Namco favors the GC the most.  I doubt they will *only* get Mr. Driller.  Although, they have not announced the titles, I can almost guaranteed you there will be a couple of big franchises somewhere in there.  IMO ;)

""An eye for an eye, a fist for a fist, a blade for a blade."
At its E3 display today, Namco announced the release of new games in its two biggest 3D fighting series, Tekken and Soul Blade/Calibur. Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur 2 (the latter being our usage, not Namco\'s) do not have release dates or platforms as yet, but PS2 is looking like the target.

Both demos are very short, with no new gameplay footage, although both games\' announcements are preceded by montages of video from their predecessors. The Tekken demo features a series of character portraits, new images of familiar characters like Paul, Baek, Jack, Hwoarang, and Xiaoyu. Then, a new Tekken 4 logo appears, and the line "The fight of your life." The Soul demo is even more obscure, including only a few pieces of promo art (a la the posters from the last gallery in Dreamcast Calibur), and an invitation "back to the stage of history," for "the next chapter in Soul Calibur."

As mentioned above, we don\'t know where or when these games will appear -- both demos indicated they are simply "coming soon." However, according to reports from Japan, the Soul Calibur sequel is already available for pre-order to arcade operators, and the pre-sale information indicates that it runs on System 246, the PS2-powered Namco arcade hardware. We\'ll be back soon with as much information as we can squeeze out of Namco."

This from ignps2 from  e3 week.

"Tekken and Soul Blade/Calibur. Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur 2 (the latter being our usage, not Namco\'s) do not have release dates or platforms as yet, but PS2 is looking like the target."

Come on just read that it saying ps2 is going to be namco\'s target plaformer mostly likely and if it isn\'t way didn\'t they used a gamecube or xbox arcade board instead of a ps2 board?

One more thing this came from cloudchaser.com
"Rumor: Tekken 4 AND Soul Calibur: The Next Chapter will release on the PS2 this year.

Fact: Both games were included in the 12 titles Namco will release before March 2002."

That\'s stating even more facts ps2 is getting soul cailbur 2.

Dead to Rights is one of the Namco Hometek games on the Xbox...however, it\'s also on the PS2.  So it\'s not exclusive.  Methinks Soul Calibur 2 is coming to da \'box!
When all is said and done...the PS2 will be remembered as the console with the best games in Fall 2001.

Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur 2 will be coming to Playstation 2, but I know that Namco said they are making the Gamecube their target-system, so I wouldn\'t be surprised if there was a supped up version of SC2 or Tekken on GC. Dead or Alive 2 was supposed to be a Dreamcast exclusive until Tecmo decided to release DOA2: Hardcore on PS2.
