Guys I was trying to see what the problem with my grandmothers modem is.  Its an internal modem, and it will connect to the net, but after a minute or 2 it will disconnect, and an error about the tcp/ip protocol not being installed correctly pops up, any ideas?  Thanks a bumch!

On the PC, on the desktop area you should have a computer icon called "network neighbourhood".

Press right mouse button and goto properties.

From here you will have a list of installed network cards, adapters and protocols.

You should have Dailup Adapter (for the modem) and TCP/IP protocol.

If like this error suggests you don\'t have TCP/IP protocol, click on Add, then select protocol, click on Microsoft and then click TCP/IP.

This should add the protocol. Now click Apply or OK or whatever and it should be installed. You will need to reboot.

Also you may need Windows Installation disks.
