Very rarely a swimming pool is seen in Finland, what a shame really. I\'ve always dreamed of owning one - but due to the long winter, getting one is quite worthless. And there\'s beaches nearby if you want to go swimming.
But, I have bad experiences. The worst was on Korfu, Greek. I was about 6 years old, and could swim due to some swimming school back in Finland. so I was very eager to go swimming in the hot sea. Well, we found this beach, a very nice one. But the waves there were about 4 metres high. For a little guy like me, they were HUGE. But still I went swimming, as I had my \'floats\' on. Well, happened that very soon a big wave threw me into the shore, my hand hit few rocks and I still have scars from it. I couldn\'t breathe, and then straightly another wave hit over me, and I got drifted back into the deep sea. I was in complete panic, as I was underwater and never really had dived, so I tried to reach the surface. Even due to my \'floats\', I wasn\'t really able. I was breathless, but then someone dived underneath me and picked me up ( probably a life-guard had seen what happened ), and I was saved. But I was close to death - if that life-guard wouldn\'t have found me...
I\'m not scared of swimming, but I will never swim in big waves anymore.
