X-box manufacturing problems.
« on: August 14, 2001, 06:41:24 AM »
research report out of the investment banking firm Thomas Weisel Partners is reporting that there is a possible flaw in Intel’s motherboard for the X-box, which may delay the manufacturing date for the machine. Apparently several sources across the Xbox manufacturing supply chain confirmed this manufacturing delay.
However, this delay would be unlikely to affect the device\'s Nov. 8 launch date because of the option of cranking up the current slack production schedule, the analysts wrote in a report Tuesday morning. The investment firm said that Microsoft’s management is holding fast to the company\'s plans to stock about 600,000 to 800,000 units at launch time and its expectations of selling up to 1.5 million units by the end of the year.

True as long as they don\'t delay it.  M$ can\'t afford a delay with nintendo coming out in japan next month and gamecube coming out nov. 5.  :thepimp:

I\'m glad it is delayed. I just hope GC is also delayed so I can rub it in my Nintendo praising friends.

Titan where does it says it is delayed.  It says right in the article that the launch date will not be affected and that production will be increased to offset the time missed??
