Soul Calibur 2 - Simultaneous release on Cube and PS2

This should place quite the damper on those expectations fueled by the recent news of this game coming to the Cube. Those of the mind, and hope, that this would be exclusively on the Cube are sure to be disappointed to know that a source close to project says that this will be a joint release on the Gamecube and PS2. The game is being ported off Sys246. LOL. Sucks to be a Cube fanboy. ROFL.

Why does it suck to be a Cube fanboy? Where\'s the logic? They wern\'t expecting this game and now their getting it. PS2 fanboys were expecting it to be PS2 exclusive and now it\'s coming to another system at the exact same time.

Sucks to be a PS2 fanboy right now. They lost their best exclusive fighting game IMO.

As for SC2 on PS2/Gamecube:  I don\'t care if it\'s exclusive or not, as long as its going to one of the systems.

Jumpman, chill out.  You shouldn\'t worry about little things people say like that.  For the past few days, PS2 players were a little worried if it was even coming to the PS2 at all (at least, I was ).  It would have been a great thing for Nintendo if it was exclusive, and a really bad thing for Sony, but now it\'s good for both of them.

Futami, an inside source told me that SC2 was being scrapped and they were going to make another Eirgheiz(sp?) game. [/sarcasm off]  In other words, what you said means nothing without a real source.  Give us a link or something.

Here\'s one link. It should be noted that the individual mentioned in the link below is not the source who told me that there would be a simulataneous source. Whether or not you believe me, this guy is very credible and the veracity of his information is indisputable. Soul Calibur 2 is running off Sys246A. The transition from a Sys246A game to the PS2 is seamless given they\'re virtually the same systems. Infact, although it is reported to be a simulataneous release, I suspect that this will debut on the PS2 before we see a Cube version. Just a hunch.

And I fail to see how this a blow to the PS2. T4 has been confirmed as an EXCLUSIVE. VF4 has a one year exclusivity contract. The PS2 has a plethora of 3rd party blockbusters, while Nintendo is sadly deficient in that area.

I read at CVG that SC2 will be shown at Spaceworld in video form only, behind closed doors.I wonder if it\'s the GC version of the game or the arcade.I think Namco might show the home versions of the game before showing the the arcade.That would be cool:)

I hope this is true, I want to see this confirmed by Namco or Sony. Cause my budget at the moment doesnt allow me to get another console for awhile and I want this game so bad.
It will be interesting to see if there is any difference in the graphic department of the two versions

Okay, so you base all this great news on a "hunch"? Mm\'kay. That is nice. ANd how does it suck to be a Cube fan, right now? THey are getting SC2 , what exactly is bad about that? Sure, it is being ported off system246. Everyone expected that, so what is your point?

Like Iron said, give us a link or pretty much what you said doesn\'t mean anything. Your "hunches" cannot be past off  as fact. Don\'t provide us with a link to another forum also. That doesn\'t prove anything.

My sources say this thread was quoted as saying "this thread is a waste of time and space". They also said Mario and Sonic would make sweet love and have a beautiful baby girl..
