"According to the South China Morning Post, Nintendo is to spend 55 billion yen (US$459 million) on advertising this financial year, ending March 2002, which includes spend on the launch of Gamecube and Game Boy Advance. George Harrison confirmed yesterday that US$75 million would be spent in America on Gamecube advertising before the end of 2001."

Read it more carefully. $75 million is what has been promised for 2001; $459 million is the total budget.

MS\'s $500 million will span across Japan, Europe, and America. That divides the budget to about $167 million per country. Looks like they\'re equal in this area, and Jumpman wasn\'t wrong.

thats where your wrong....read the link....  $459 million is for both
Gameboy ADVANCE AND GameCUbe.

now we all know GBA is getting more of that money than GC right?  surely u know that right?

Jumpman was saying that the GC ads alone where that amount...and they are not.

No. I said over the course of a year, it\'s half of that. 250 million in case your math skills are lacking.

I never said anything like that. Quit putting words in my mouth. I said Nintendo spends around 250 million in advertising every year while Microsoft spends 500 million. It\'s not my fault your not smart enough to realize Nintendo focuses it\'s attention on more than one place. *cough* GBA. Like I said way back then, Nintendo doesn\'t need major advertising like MS does. They\'ll sell system with brand name alone. Microsoft can\'t have that luxury.

Some people here need an attitude check. Guys just take it easy, is it really worth debating over how much nintendo will spend, who really gives a ****, just play the games and let nintendo worry about there budget.
